GOP win Colorado Senate, Democrats vow to hold party accountable

Yeah.... doubtful.

Quote
"The Democratic caucus plans to do whatever possible to block efforts to take the state backward with respect to economic growth, women's rights, (gay) equality, the environment and workers' rights," Democrats said, in a news release.

So... you plan on doing what the Dems claim the US Senate is doing?

How did that work out for you during the mid-terms?

2. And I'm sure last year's gun control legislation bears some of the blame

Two Democrats were lost in Colorado last year because of the recall vote over that very mild piece of gun legislation, and it's well-known that the GOP played up the gun control bill every chance they got this year during fund-raising and get-out-the-vote efforts.

Many here on DU predicted this would happen last year, and were shouted down.

Best of luck to those in Colorado; you're gonna need it.

So mild that businesses left Colorado.

3. Seems like the Party should have thought about that BEFORE the Election. But, alas, we're where the Party likes to be...out of power and pointing fingers at us. And, a time honored tradition since 1996, the only lesson "learned" is that the Party must go Right, and try to find new, common ground with the crazies. What a f/cking farce!!!

By coincidence, we are also the slowest growing economy in Colorado, so we have a head start on the rest of you.

8. Gun control is a loser issue..

Yet too many Democrats got suckered into associating themselves with it again.

I thought we'd learned our lesson, but apparently not.

Because Congress is just a distraction while the real rulers go on about their business. Invisibly.

No. No they do not.

14. I don't think 90% of Americans...favor the gun control laws that Colorado passed. It pissed off enough people to get the Democratic state senate leader kicked out in a recall election.

Yeah, I think I'd call that a loser issue, and I hope the Democrats learned a lesson from it. I would have thought the lesson would have been learned about 20 years ago when the Assault Weapons Ban lead to an epic ass kicking that cost Bill Clinton a Democratic House and Senate. I remember Clinton saying the day after the mid-terms "I got the message." Apparently this generation of politicians has to learn it all over again.

For what it's worth, I'm sure a lot of the newly-elected Republicans will screw up badly enough to get booted out in the next election.

it didn't piss off anybody. Except the NRA and other profit-seeking gun groups.

They mess with your brain.

Democrats, liberals and primitives....

I'll make it as clear for you as I can. You have turned your party into the free stuff, pot, and gay marriage party. Those are the only things that define your leaders positions anymore - So, your entire activist base consists of people who want free stuff, pot, and gay marriages.

If free stuff, pot, or gay marriage isn't on the ballot - your voters don't turn out. And since Colorado has already passed gay marriage and pot laws, And Obama is giving everyone free stuff (except those who pay the bills generated by the free stuff via taxes - we don't get free stuff.), your base isn't going to turn out to vote because there is nothing in it for them.

Your party's platform has devolved to the point where its primary followers are moochers, looking to benefit themselves today. Sure there are your members with future concerns - primarily the warmists and envirowackos, but they have become the fringe.. Worrying about 'Climate Change' in the next century doesn't concern most of your base - as long as they get gay marriage, free stuff, and pot today, they are happy.

*WHY DO YOU THINK OBAMA IS PUSHING FOR AMNESTY ?

The simple answer is he is creating a new class of people, eager to get free stuff, pot, and to a lesser extent gay marriage. (most South American illegals are heavily Christian, and disapprove of gay marriage) Obama is smart enough to know that the days of gay marriage and legalized pot election issues are soon to be over, as state after state are tackling them. It wouldn't surprise me to see a majority of states having approved both by the time 2016 rolls around.

So, all that's left is to make a bunch of people here citizens, so they can get free stuff they aren't getting now as illegals. - and the newly minted citizens will gladly exchange votes for that free stuff.

Shouldn't you all be out there rushing to buy birth control before the wascally weeeepublicans ban it?

I remember the Seinfeld episode where Elaine tried to decide whether a guy was "spongeworthy".

Maybe after the rethugs outlaw birth control, men will agonize over whether a girl is rubberworthy.

I lived in El Paso county several years ago.

From what I remember back then, it used to have a small old town feel with mostly mom and pop type employment.  A lot of military types lived there because of Ft. Carson and the Air Force Academy.
