We are NOT gonna lose the Senate

Everyone needs to chill the heck out! We are not gonna lose Louisiana. We are not gonna lose Kentucky. We are not gonna lose Georgia. We are not gonna lose North Carolina. We are not gonna lose New Hampshire, etc. (OK, I have far less confidence in my home state, but I still think Pryor is gonna eke out the win. I'm willing to concede that we may lose Colorado and Alaska. Kansas is a "who the heck knows?")

CHILL, PEOPLE!

1. .

Not only are we going to New Hampshire. We're going to South Carolina and Arizona and North Dakota and New Mexico, and we're going to California and Texas and New York. And we're going to South Dakota and Oregon and Washington and Michigan. And then we're going to Washington, D.C. to take back the White House. YAHHHHHHHHHH!

A corkheaded primitive channels Howard Dean for the thread winner.

2. I am chill. I don't worry about things I can't control.

I am one vote in a blue state (CT), and the Senate seats there are not on the ballot this year.

5. I wish I could rec bigwilq's #2 post. above.."Don't worry about things I can't control."

Yes, I sent some money, but I can't control who votes in Iowa or Alaska or why they will vote there.

Many have tried to present our message as best as could be ..That is all there is. People vote for lots of reasons, or don't vote. Many vote against their own best interests and think they are doing what is correct. I am not in charge of them. That is the truth.. I can't predict this afternoon's weather let alone what will happen on Tuesday. That is all .....

Hey you guys!  Would you guys stop voting against your own best interests, you guys!!

8. I wish I had your attitude

I sent money too. I'm beating myself for not volunteering this year. (Health issues) Yet, what can we do when a senate poll suddenly changes in Iowa of all places?

Your post reminds me of this:

Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
The courage to change the things I can,
And the wisdom to know the difference.

I'm heartened by the GOTV stories on DU. Our community can inform voters. It won't influence all votes. It can influence people and make them better citizens.

Most of them are just that- stories.

Then cali, who appears to be one of the only voices of reason in the last couple of weeks, takes a big dump on the thread:

17. I don't get these adamant declarations

I hope we manage to hold the Senate, but realistically, it is not looking good. The latest polls are discouraging.

<snip>

In Louisiana, Democratic Sen. Mary Landrieu is in trouble, too. The NBC News/Marist poll found her at 44% support, but in the state's "jungle primary" she's facing two Republicans -- Rep. Bill Cassidy and tea party candidate Rob Maness. If Landrieu falls short of 50%, she'd face just one of those Republicans in a December run-off -- and without conservatives' votes being split, she'd be the underdog.

The latest survey from the left-leaning Public Policy Polling this weekend also put McConnell ahead, at 50% to 42% for Grimes. PPP also gave Republican challenger Tom Cotton a hefty 49% to 41% lead in Arkansas over Democratic Sen. Mark Pryor.

The GOP is all but certain to win seats now held by retiring Democrats in Montana, South Dakota and West Virginia. They're also favored in Alaska, Arkansas and Louisiana -- states consistently won by Republican presidential candidates.

That quote is from a program that relies on and cherishes honesty.

It looks like there are at least a few primitives in that thread who have reduced themselves to the Serenity Prayer for supplication.   :rotf:

Any average lib in good standing can predict the weather with 100% accuracy. The world will continue to warm until all life is extinguished.

If it hadn't broke apart in Alaska, the Exxon Valdez couldn't hold enough KY.
