There is a horrible story out of Kansas about a 100 year old lady that was raped by the thug that broke into her home to burglarize it. DU has picked up on the story and is actually having somewhat of normal reaction to such a story....

Kansas woman, 100, raped in her home during burglary, police say
A suspect has been arrested in connection with the sexual assault of a 100-year-old woman, Wichita police said Friday.
The incident occurred on the night of Sept. 29, said Wichita police Capt. Troy Livingston. The woman walked to a neighbour’s house at about 7:15 a.m. the next day and said there were people inside her house.
“She’s a strong and brave woman who was able to give us information,†Livingston said of the victim.

The woman, who lives alone, said she was awakened about 9 p.m. by intruders inside her house, police said. One or more burglars forced their way inside through a back door. They remained in the house for several hours.

14. About the hidden message you replied to
I'm not sure why that post gets hidden for suggesting a rapist get raped, while there appears to be no problem suggesting that the rapist be sleep deprived to an extent that is recognized as torture, or publicly hanged, or castrated. Not that I am saying that any of these punishments are (or aren't) okay, that's a different conversation. I just am not sure why one post should be hidden and the others are acceptable.

15. Not sure. I don't make the rules, nor am I on a jury.
If it bothers you that strongly, I suggest you alert on those other posts.

16. Sorry, I wasn't specifically addressing you
it was just a logical place to put it in the thread.
Nah, I won't alert on the other posts. While I'm not saying I agree with their sentiments, the presence of the posts does not bother me either way. I mean, I happen to be against the death penalty, but that doesn't mean I'm going to alert on every post in favor of it. And really, I think sometimes these posts are just emotional reactions expressing understandable shock and indignation, but if push came to shove, these people wouldn't actually endorse these punishments. It's more a statement of anger than one of what they really think should be done.
Why, I think that sleep deprivation could be considered torture - but it is ok since we are suggesting it....

11. Hey, police, where's your excuse for this one? Was she wearing sexy underwear?
Or was she just guilty of being female?
I hope someone is there to take good care of this woman because the trauma could send her downhill pretty quickly. And I hope they provide some ongoing counseling to try to deal with it.

13. pukes say it can be a gift from god....if she gets pregnant.
No wait, women don't get pregs from rape, their body has a mysterious way of shutting that down.....no wait, old women aren't worth f*ing, so those dirty libs are lying...no wait, she must have invited them in for cookies and then, well, one thing led to another, no means yes, what was she wearing, boys will be boys. They have a future ahead of them, we must think of their careers.
Prayers for this STRONG woman!
In general the theme seems to be that the person who did this is a very bad person that, depending on the poster, should be raped himself while in prison, hung on the spot or taken out and shot.
A suspect has been arrested. I wonder if the story will change any???
http://www.kansas.com/news/local/article2651232.html#/tabPane=tabs-3beda3df-1A 35-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the sexual assault last week of a 100-year-old woman, Wichita police said Friday.
The man was booked into the Sedgwick County Jail on suspicion of rape and aggravated burglary, Wichita police Capt. Troy Livingston said.
Police would not name the man, but jail and police records identified him as Kasey Nesbitt of Wichita. He was arrested Monday in connection with a separate burglary case, jail records show.
Nesbitt was arrested Thursday in connection with the woman’s rape and the burglary of her home. He was in custody at the jail at the time, records show.
