What's for dinner? ~ Weds, Oct 08, 2014

OK, I may as well start today's thread...

Since it's a day off for me, I'm going with a slow cooked beef stew. Something about "savoriness" to cure a mild hangover.

1. Pork roast, Brussels sprouts, and maybe butternut squash

Ah, yes, a nice beef stew is perfect for a light hangover day. Great to have a day off, too. I try to plan my hangovers for days off.

I found a pork roast in the refrig, so I asked the RG about it via e-mail. He called me-- just as I was going out the door for work--with a recipe for it! So do I take down the recipe,or do I risk being late? Yes, you guessed it: I took down the recipe.

And I was on time after all.

So the answer is PORK ROAST!

Side dish: Ina Garten's Brussels sprouts recipe (has balsamic in it).

after which a picture; don't look unless one wants to upchuck

I bought a butternut squash on the way home from work, but not sure I'll be able to get all this done for dinner tonight. Would love to have cubed butternut squash with crispy fried-in-butter sage leaves .

Red wine.

Dessert: Greek yogurt with pomegranate seeds. Cold de-caf.

3. Her take on Brussel sprouts is really good. A change from the usual and simple.

A friend pulled up all his beets from the community garden plot - I ended up with a mess of them. Plan to roast as a side for roast chicken later this week.

2. Stouffer's frozen lasagna. One of my favorite go to quickies. Along with boxed mac 'n cheese.

I do cook it in the oven though...

4. Hamburger on a pretzel bun.

Salad.

I hope the beef stew helps.

You know, this is great, just great.  :sarcasm:

A fine example of primitive friendship and solidarity, the old crone is.

Here, her good friend, her good pal, her good chum, Big Mo, is being eviscerated by hordes of angry unterprimitiven, and the great-aunt doesn't care.

franksolich has provided me with the grist to make me rich.
A calendar with a daily menu so that the libs never have to waste time wrestling with what to eat.
There were only two options for gender. At last count there are at least 12, according to libs. By that standard, I'm a male lesbian.
