Oh my.

Sorry I'm late in getting this up, but I was waiting on the last primitive, who finally showed up.

What's for Dinner ~ Saturday ~ June 21st

Editing to say we ended up with pizza. I'm on a multi cheese with jalapeno kick lately, though I usually make Greek pizza for myself. Bill is having multi-meats.

You?

1. I have a ton of leftover salmon

So maybe some kind of pasta dish. Or a salmon pizza.

2. cucumber buttermilk soup

and stir fry vegetables, Thai style with garlic, ginger, and lime.

I saved cbayer's cucumber soup recipe, so I think I'll use it.

Oh, and fennel salad.

I will get some input from the RG on the fennel salad.

Oh, and I learned something very interesting about pasta and a low-carb diet. The RG wanted to do pasta and I about cried 'cuz I wanted some so much. However, the only place I can find for low-carb pasta is online and because it was so expensive, I didn't order it.

So he checked the gluten-free pastas and found out they are way lower in carbs! In fact, so close to what is on my diet that I felt I could have at least one serving.

It was also very good. I didn't feel like I was missing too much, as he also cooked regular pasta.

^^^must be fat, if she's on a special diet.

8. shrimp creole

In fact, it's already made. I'm going to eat it cold later on, since it is so hot today.

9. big fat chicken roasting in the oven...

...with a lot of fresh rosemary and butter tucked under the skin.

I'm thinking fried leftover polenta alongside, and haricot vert. Leftover pineapple upside down cake.

10. The last of the Italian sausage and pasta.

Salad. Strawberries for dessert.

It's been another torridly hot and humid day out here in the Sandhills of Nebraska, so I decided to emulate the great-aunt, who so carefully and daintily and elegantly prepares her own meal for one.

<<<took one of the late maternal ancestress' Royal Patrician china plates, and carefully laid one of a late grandmother's Lameirinho Portugese linen napkins atop of it, on which I placed a sprig of parsley and half a walnut for supper, an elegant meal for one.

Fennel salad? As in dogfennel? I ask because if DUmmies are eating dogfennel I'm sitting on a gold mine if I can figure out how to accept EBT.
