Top DUmmies at mid-year
« on: May 20, 2014, 09:15:34 AM »
Just a reminder that nominations for Top DUmmies of 2014 begin in 181 days, less than half a year away.

That may seem like a long time away, but tempus does have a way of fugiting.

And unfortunately, when members nominate and vote, they tend to concentrate only upon the most-recent primitives and the most-recent stupidities on Skins's island, forgetting all about much of what had happened earlier in the year.

If one wishes to make some "notes" to remind one later--this thread'll be linked on the nominating thread for consultation--feel free to comment them here.

Me, I'm worried that by late November, I'll have forgotten all about MsPiggy the "msanthrope" primitive, and because they don't count any more, the BainsBane primitive and Skippy.....and I'm sure that all three of them honestly deserve an award or two at the end of the year.

There's twenty top DUmmies; that's easy enough to keep in mind.

And the special awards will continue, the "Willie," the "Steve," the "Rob," the "Nadin," and the group award.  The CCA will be there too, but that's not up for nominations and votes.

Because of changes to be announced later, there'll also be the "Amber" and the "Peggy."

And there'll be one non-award, an award no primitive would want to brag about winning, the "Barry" or the "Skippy" (either name; whichever one wishes to call it).

Holy Moley!!

This is almost like a Christmas in July sale. As long as no one starts playing the equivalent of Christmas music to accompany this announce of DOTY being 6 months away, I'm good.

They all seem pretty boring so far this year.  Hopefully with this being an election year, maybe their anxiety and nuttiness will increase.

Here's the proper music for DUmmies.

Lot of them have been lackluster lately. When Ralph Nader called for Barack Obama to be impeached, no massive meltdown happened at DU. I think it will pick up by election.

You are correct Dori, the DUmpers are substituting content with massive amounts of quantity. I offer as an example the big guy from Omaha who posts 10-20 local news stories per day. Stories that no one cares about.

It's gotta be good enough for a top 20.
Come to think of it, unions do create jobs. Companies have to hire two workers to do the work of one.

This was the epic thread where the fat lezbo DUmmy Aerows got nipped by a raccoon, had to go through a series of rabies shots, and claims to now be buried under something like $18,000 in hospital charges for the treatment.

I have been reading a book that is a primer for latin. One of my biggest regrets from my high school years is not having taken latin then.
Your post gave me an idea for a thread that would be a sort of primer for latin.
Any ideas ?
