I guess that I lost a Facebook friend, who is also on the Forum due to my post about abusive cops. Let me make one thing clear, I am NOT anti-cop!! I used to be a reserve police officer, carried a gun, and had all he powers & duties of the regular police officers. I excelled at the job and was the ONLY one to make Corporal in less than a year in the history of the police dept. That said, there are many cops out there that DO abuse their authority. I'm sure that they fall into the 10% group, however, THEY are the ones getting the limelight placed upon them, their respective police departments & cities/ counties. The fact IS that, if one looks at things OBJECTIVELY, that these cops are getting a LOT of negative publicity. I'm more pro-cop than not!
In this article, SIX cops tag team a homeless man. I'm sorry, but IMO, they went WAY too far!! In my 5+ years, I only had to "subdue" one man. Even then, all I had to do was put him down on the ground. This was before Tasers and other less than lethal devices, so I used my Judo skills to accomplish this task. It didn't take long and I only used enough force to handle the situation. It really makes me angry & sad that these officers do this kind of shit!! The bigger fact IS ... that the jury let them all slide. THAT pisses me off. It seems that, in some states, cops ARE given a license to commit murder just because someone is "resisting".
