Tropical Storm Bertha
« on: July 05, 2008, 06:32:24 PM »
great.  I know it's a long way off, but Bertha is looking at my neck of the woods with lust in her eyes.  here are the
computer models.  until this morning, most of them had her veering dramatically off to the north . . .

it's probably all anecdotal evidence, but it seems like all hurricanes in a given year act like the first one of the season.
there was the year that everything hit florida.  there was the year that everything came at the carolinas.  there
was the year of katrina and rita, when everything hit the gulf states.  I think last year, everything hit mexico.

Lay off the bong water.

If we go for the first storm then Mexico will get them all. Other than Gustav SC has been lucky as hell since September 1989.

People in NC won't take a storm named Bertha very lightly as many still remember her flooding dqamage in 1996.

It looks as if only one model shows anything other than a north turn. The storm will not escape the front coming off the eastcoast right now.

So get out of your bunker and enjoy.

You got off your ass, now get your wife off her back.

you are aware that the computer models get updated multiple times per day, right?

I mean, you know that they don't look now like they did when i posted this last night.

I'll take a look at a few things when I get into work and let you know my prognistication.  Just by looking at these charts though, I'd say it's mostly likely not gonna make landfall in the Continental US.

Then one has to wonder what's the point?  There is no reality, just predictions of reality.  Like fine china which never lays flat - it has no knowledge of dust, only of being dusted.

If you guys think there were problems evacuating people in the past it is going to be a major problem now that gas prices are through the roof!

whoa.  I hadn't thought of that!  george bush has found whole new ways to kill the underclass!  if a hurricane hits anywhere n the US, we will indeed hear all about how the poor couldn't evacuate because gas is so expensive.
