U.S.-led force helicopter shot down in Afghanistan
Wed Jul 2, 2008 1:42am EDT

KABUL (Reuters) - A helicopter belonging to U.S.-led coalition
troops was shot down by small-arms fire south of the Afghan capital
on Wednesday, but there were no serious injuries to the people on
board, the U.S. military said.

The pilots landed the aircraft safely and evacuated all personnel
before it caught fire in the Kharwar district of Logar province.

"There were no serious injuries to the crew or passengers," the
military said in a statement.

It did not give further details of the incident in Logar where
Taliban militants are known to be active.

It was the second coalition helicopter to be shot down in a week. ...

5. According to the BBC last night, it was an RPG that brought it down.

And we're not suppose to question their patriotism.

I'm really starting to hate these F--kers.

No, they TRIED that with the Soviets, and the Hind ate their lunch consistently.  Then the US began supplying them with 'Stingers'.  Enter a whole different equation.

There's a reason why patriotism is considered a conservative value. Watch a Tea Party rally and you'll see people proudly raising the American flag and showing pride in U.S. heroes such as Thomas Jefferson. Watch an OWS rally and you'll see people burning the American flag while showing pride in communist heroes such as Che Guevera. --Bob, from some news site

The MSM is really stretching for bad news.  "US led Coalition helicopter?"   Pleeeeeze.

The alphabet channels and AP are going to have to go into overtime pretzel bending to make this look bad for Bush and McCain...................but they will somehow do it.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

Correct.  The Soviets were hunting them down Muj like hawks grabbing field mice from a mown field, but once the Stingers showed up and the Reds hit a one-aircraft-a-day operational loss rate for three months running, the tables were turned.
