DUmmies Discuss The Mayor Of Atlanta
« on: January 30, 2014, 02:39:28 PM »
So the mayor of Atlanta handled storm preparations using methods pioneered by New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin.

DUmmies are outraged that he isn't getting proper credit:

I am WITH Georg. Governor Deal: "No interview, CNN, after the way you treated the Mayor of Atlanta"

Absolutely the media is going to get its feelings all hurt and become pouty, but the total screeching disrespect and idiocy shown by the CNN Anchorperson to the Mayor yesterday deserved exactly that response.

CNN, YOU apologize first, it seems to be all the craze lately now anyway.

2. Earlier, MSNBC was showing

clips of Mika this morning, she was very rude to the Mayor too.

What would DUmp reaction have been to a white repuke mayor?

6. In my opinion, CNN is no less right-wing than every other media source.

I wouldn't look to CNN for real news.

Yeah, CNN, right wing, uh huh, ok.  :whatever:
NAMBLA is a left-wing organization.

There's a reason why patriotism is considered a conservative value. Watch a Tea Party rally and you'll see people proudly raising the American flag and showing pride in U.S. heroes such as Thomas Jefferson. Watch an OWS rally and you'll see people burning the American flag while showing pride in communist heroes such as Che Guevera. --Bob, from some news site

ATLANTA! ATLANTA! ATLANTA! What did the Republican leadership know and when did they know it?
They were warned that there would be an attack of snow and ice and chose to disregard it leading to millions of people's lives being disrupted, illnesses, and deaths. Responsibility must be placed upon the heads of those in charge. I would suggest an investigative committee charged with justifying a guilty verdict to be formed immediately.

I'm thinking about a hurricane a number of years ago where the mayor and Governor had ample warning but didn't get people out.  People died in that one and they blamed Bush.  :loser:
25 years ago we had Ronald Reagan, Johnny Cash and Bob Hope.  Now we have Obama, no hope and no cash.

Uhm, knowing that a massive snow storm was coming, and it isn't Atlanta's first, wouldn't the smart thing to do have been keep all non-emergency personnel at home and encourage businesses to do the same have been the right call?  Cutting out that traffic would have helped, but it would have required preemptive action by the mayor.

The mayor can't control businesses being open or even the schools for that matter.

I recall a news report saying Atlanta was only warned of a "light dusting"; whatever that means in Atlantaspeak. Here in the North, that's about 2".

A "light dusting" around here is usually less than an inch.

Best was the tweet sent out by Atlanta's mayor as the snow first began to fall:
