The Robertson family is much loved across the country, and the DUmmies can't stand it that their impotent bleating on DU boards won't do anything to change that.
Just got a call from Mom to ask if I had seen the SOTU deal last night.
As I hadn't she went on to describe the program to me. She had me in tears of laughter from what she processed in her 92 year old head.
I wish I had a recording of how she saw all this all, at her age.
First she remarked on the woman, their dress, hair styles and what ever. Most of the wives were over 50 years old trying to look 25 years old. Hair styles were better suited for much younger woman and as she said were Helen Thomas still alive she would have fit right in.
Moo, oh what Mom thinks of her, she dressed down for the occasion, she dressed and looked like a ageing hooker, ridden hard and put away wet.
The men dressed in suits and ties ageing, loosing hair and teeth looked like used car salesmen.
For some reason Mom zeroed in on the Gentleman that announces the president and escorts him off after his speech. A head like a bowling ball with some kind of protrusions. After the lack luster speech he had a problem getting the president off the stage as the big O stopped to kiss the ladies and shake hands with the men.
I do hope after the show the president was placed in a special shower chamber to rid his body of all the germs he encountered and gargle with bleach.
One would think--she told me---for something this important everyone would dress for the occasion, but even the First Lady looked as if she were going to a BBQ.
At Moms age she most likely wanted to see something of the woman looking grand in hats and feathers, and the men wearing their service decorations from 30 + years ago.
AHHH well, Mom is Mom and I had more fun listening to her describe the Show then I would have had if I had watched it myself.
