(Reuters) - Methane gas from 90 flatulent cows exploded in a German farm shed on Monday, damaging the roof and injuring one of the animals, police said.

High levels of the gas had built up in the structure in the central German town of Rasdorf, then "a static electric charge caused the gas to explode with flashes of flames," the force said in a statement.

One cow was treated for burns, a police spokesman added.

Climate change...

Having read a health food cook book written by a DUmmie that the name currently escapes me back in the late 70s, I thought this headline should bring out the climate change nutters.  The recipe book railed about the horror of Americans eating beef due to the cow's flatus damaging the Earth's atmosphere.  Funny stuff at the time.

Whatever the details of those living conditions, that produced such an effect, I doubt it could be called humane.

That's my first impression - and I fail to see the humor.

I was going to mention that I grew up hearing about how my immigrant Norwegian ancestors supposedly lived above the barn and it was heated by the downstairs methane.

However in googling the reality of that, I only found a hilarious picture of an outhouse that I wanted to share.   :-)
