"GIRD" sounds familiar, and I'm sure that you were the one who identified it first.
Of course being a competent person, medical professionals have always taken great care to illuminate me on what's wrong, but I'm also a deaf person, and sometimes--especially during times of high stress--I just let it go in one ear and out the other, if I had ears. This is why, in medical emergencies, I always have a hearing person come along with me--the neighbor, the neighbor's wife, the
femme, the business partner (there's already a signed medical release for them, along with one for one of my nephews)--in which case the physician explains things to them, and they in turn explain things to me.
It's a bitch of a situation, but my life is too important to be trusted only in my hands.
On August 3, 2009, Carl here posted a topic about this, in some forum, but I can't find it anywhere. It's probably still here, but not under any "search" information that I've used. I assume it got messed up during the Chris_ crisis a few summers ago, when suddenly everything was posted by Chris_.
