30 Days
« on: June 25, 2008, 11:27:03 AM »
Has anyone seen this bullshit propaganda?  We've watched 4 episodes so far.  I hate it, but can't help but watch it.  My wife says it gives me something to bitch about.  I'll give you the rundown of the episodes I've watched.

Guy goes to India to work for the company that outsourced his job to India.  This was actually a pretty good episode.  The guy asked his Indian co workers why they think U.S. Companies are sending their jobs to India.  The Indian answered, "Because Americans can't do the job as good as we can."  Huh?  They are ****in telemarketing / Tech support jobs.  They are talking to Americans!!!!  Of course the company can't say,"Because we can pay you less".  So they tell them they are smarter than us dumb Americans.  On a side note, I talked to one of these people when I called Dish Network to help troublrshoot my Dish.  I finally handed the phone to my wife and went out to smoke a cigarette.  A redneck and a dot head trying to understand each other just don't work.  They were teaching then to speak like Americans, not just English, but to sound American.  Overall this was a good show......but then

Christian small town Indiana boy goes to live with a queer in San Francisco for 30 days.  Of course, he is made to look like a closed minded simpleton among the sea of enlightened ferries.  He sits down with the "pastor" of an all gay church in San Francisco.  She quotes alot of vague scripture that she has interpretted to mean it's ok to be gay.  Making sure she leaves out "man shall not lay with another man as he lays with a woman".  He points that verse out to her, and of course she says that's one verse compared to all of her verses and he backs down (because by this time he has a soft spot for them).  This is where I had my rant during the commercial.  His one verse could not be interpretted any other way, therefore it hold a hell of alot more weight than all of hers combined.  Anyway, by the time he goes home he has decided that queers are OK.  They are just like everybody else.  The highlight was when they went to the gay club and a queer started harassing the straight guy, telling him he don't belong there.  I thought that was ironic + ain't no faggott gonaa get in my face like that without me sticking my fist in his mouth.

South Carolina hunter goes to live with PETA freaks in..San Fransisco (see the pattern yet?).  He gets there and really stands his ground.  He has to dress up like a chicken at a protest of KFC and pretend to kill the Colonel (I know, real mature people here).  He tells them that chickens are food animals, along with cows, and that is there ot in life.  Of course this is countered with a video of cows being killed in what has to be the worst factory in the world.  He tells them that they are full of shit and walks away.  Then he has to go to work at an animal rescue shelter AKA where they keep the animals they steal.  He gets attached to a calf he's been bottle feeding (he is human, who wouldn't).  He is presented with a hunting magazine and asked how they make sure the deer doesn't suffer, and could they just sit in the stand with a camera and take a picture of the deer.  He tells them that he can't eat a photograph.  That was priceless.  He tears up when he goes to the Humane Society and they take a Pit Bull out of the pen and let him pet it and love on it, on the way for it to be put down.  By the time he goes home, he says anilmals have rights, but he is still going to hunt and eat meat.  The highlight of this episode was when the freaks are telling him that the animals are ike the the Jews during the Holacaust, and one day we'll all see them that way.  I swear I've heard those same talkng points at the DUmp.

Woman who is against gay couples adopting goes to live with two gay men and there adopted son.  this woman sood her ground throughout the episode.  More of the same, she goes to alot of functions where she is brow beat into tears.  Highlight is when they have a party with the sons real mother and his aunt and uncle in attendance.  They brow beat her some more about how they just want the boy to be in a loving house.  I kept waiting for her to ask if they were so concerned why didn't they take hm in, but instead she got fed up and just went inside.  When she left she told them that she hadn't changed her mind at all, and that she was done with this and left.  I was proud of her.

Every episode is showing someone with conservative values and isolating them with a bunch of libs to brow beat them into submission.  They show this as them being enlightened.  It makes me sick....but I keep wtaching.

I thought the show got cancelled when the deal with them scripting the Immigration show fell through and that Minuteman showed the show for what it is. Anybody remember that?

Morgan Spermlick is an ass, and his show is BS. That's putting it nicely here.

Man Loses 79 Pounds--Eating McDonald's  http://channels.isp.netscape.com/whatsnew/recent.jsp?story=20080617-1312

How is this possible? Somehow an overweight family man from Virginia--you know the kind, he was once active, got married and gained too much weight--has lost 79 pounds in six months eating nothing but food from McDonald's.
It is said that branches draw their life from the vine. Each is separate yet all are one as they share one life giving stem . The Bible tells us we are called to a similar union in life, our lives with the life of God. We are incorporated into him; made sharers in his life. Apart from this union we can do nothing.

I saw the ones from last season (India, gay guy, living in minimum wage) and I have avoided it this season because of the obvious slant. Spurlock touched on some valid points in Super Size Me. Why they felt he needed a reality show is beyond me. He preaches to the choir and distorts a lot of the truth.

Check this out - http://spurlockwatch.typepad.com/front/

Dumbaass has a movie coming out called "Where in the World is Bin Laden?"
Quote
Where in the World isn't really about the hunt for bin Laden. Once you get past the title, it's little more than a feeble, once-over-lightly tour of the Middle East, as Spurlock — now an expectant daddy fretting over the state of the world — pays visits to Egypt, Morocco, Israel, Saudi Arabia, and Pakistan, trying to suss out the feelings of the citizens there. Did you know that the war in Iraq has been a boon to al-Qaeda? That a lot of folks in Arab Muslim countries have no beef with ordinary Americans but deplore our government? That Saudi Arabia limits freedoms on speech, women's dress, and religion? These and other shattering insights are offered up as if they were news; Spurlock's gaga investigative zeal makes him come off here like a boob who spends too much time at the health-food store and not enough time reading the papers. When a bunch of Hasidim on a Jerusalem sidewalk start yelling at him to go home, and he's forced to scurry for cover, his attitude is at once smug and starry-eyed, sealed with a Can't we all get along? shrug. A primer no one needed, Where in the World Is Osama bin Laden? should have been called The Post-9/11 World for Dummies.

I can see November 2 from my house!!!

No, my friends, there’s only one really progressive idea. And that is the idea of legally limiting the power of the government. That one genuinely liberal, genuinely progressive idea — the Why in 1776, the How in 1787 — is what needs to be conserved. We need to conserve that fundamentally liberal idea. That is why we are conservatives. --Bill Whittle

Why would  you guys watch this dreck when "Secret Diary of a Callgirl" just started on Showtime?

The premise of this show sounds stupid, I've never heard of it before and I wouldn't watch it anyways.

I don't have Showtime, but I'm now thinking I need to upgrade.

What if it was called, "Secret Diary of a Chippendale"?   :-)

There's a reason why patriotism is considered a conservative value. Watch a Tea Party rally and you'll see people proudly raising the American flag and showing pride in U.S. heroes such as Thomas Jefferson. Watch an OWS rally and you'll see people burning the American flag while showing pride in communist heroes such as Che Guevera. --Bob, from some news site

That wouldn't get me to sign up for Showtime.  All those guys are gay anyways.

Not that I'm watching the aforementioned crap, but I don't have Showtime, so I'm gonna have to wait for the DVD release.
