Why I Fled Libertarianism — and Became a Liberal
http://www.alternet.org/why-i-fled-libertarianism-and-became-liberal

The night before the 2008 Nevada Republican convention, the Ron Paul delegates all met at a Reno high school. Although I’d called myself a libertarian for almost my entire adult life, it was my first exposure to the wider movement.

And boy, was it a circus. Many members of the group were obsessed with the gold standard, the Kennedy assassination and the Fed. Although Libertarians believe government is incompetent, many of them subscribe to the most fringe conspiracy theories imaginable. Airplanes are poisoning America with chemicals (chemtrails) or the moon landings were faked. Nothing was too far out. A great many of them really think that 9-11 was an inside job. Even while basking in the electoral mainstream, the movement was overflowing with obvious hokum.

During the meeting, a Ron Paul staffer, a smart and charismatic young woman, gave a tip to the group for the upcoming convention.

“Dress normal,” she said. “Wear suits, and don’t bring signs or flags. Don’t talk about conspiracy theories. Just fit in.” Her advice was the kind you might hear given to an insane uncle at Thanksgiving.

Read this and found it to be wildly amusing.  Of course you are a liberal.  We never had any doubt.   Ron Paul or whoever the (D) is!!!  <--- yep, like looking in the mirror for you isn't it?

Wait.

He joined the Proglodytes to get AWAY from conspiracy theories?

Has he asked his new cohorts who killed JFK, who won the 2000 election, who perpetrated 9/11, why we went into Iraq or any other war for the last 200 years, who caused the 2008 meltdown and why and how come Obama can't do anything half competently?

Too funny, and not a newb either yet seems to have no clue that 80% or more of the DUmp believes those very things.
It just shows how little they pay attention to each other and why they so hate it when we post all their idiocy for the public to see.

I miss the old  911 forum.

The lunacy continues unabated but you have to go to Offbeat group then to the Creative Speculation sub-forum.

4Skinner buried 'em deep.

Why I Fled Libertarianism — and Became a Liberal

Conservative: Self reliant. Thinks for himself.
Ron Paultard: Capable of holding a job. Annoys everyone with constant conspiracy talk.
Liberal: Prefers disability payments. Unable to think for himself. Gives life over to total govt control.

Ron Paultard who becomes a liberal: Never shuts up. Gets fired from Job for not shutting up. Gets booted from all internet forums except DU. Thinks Nadin might be onto something with the killer windmill story...if only she would pursue the govt cover-up angle.

I'm gonna borrow this and use it in AP where one of the Libtards have posted this same story.
The libs/dems of today are the Quislings of former years. The cowards who would vote a fraud into office in exchange for handouts from the devil.

I think I just saw an image of the old WTC. It was just in small scale though.
There were only two options for gender. At last count there are at least 12, according to libs. By that standard, I'm a male lesbian.

It's the scale that Bush used to test his destruction theories.  You know so he could invade Iraq for all the Oil.

Uh, it's a poorly-done quote from AlterNet.  That's not DUmmy xchrom's work.

Yeah for some reason the Libertarian Party tends to attract all sorts of whackos. As a Libertarian I will admit that. Unfortunately it is the Ron Paul worshippers that get all the attention.

Why I Fled Libertarianism — it didn't promise me everything for free.

Any other questions, DUmmie.
“The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of ‘liberalism’, they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.” - Norman Thomas, U.S. Socialist Party presidential candidate 1940, 1944 and 1948

"America is like a healthy body and its resistance is threefold: its patriotism, its morality, and its spiritual life. If we can undermine these three areas, America will collapse from within."  Stalin
