My Old Man was a Chicago Republican until the day he died.

Then he became a democrat.

Then-Chief Justice John Marshall observed, “Between a balanced republic and a democracy, the difference is like that between order and chaos.”

John Adams warned in a letter, “Remember democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There never was a democracy yet, that did not commit suicide.”

Believe it or not, my wife actually asked me today what was so great about JFK. I told her that a lot of women wanted to bed him. Then she asked, "but what did he do?" I answered, "a lot of women that were not his wife."

While the above is 100% true, I don't have a huge problem with JFK. He's a better American that 99.9% of the dems in office today, and I really don't think he could get the dem nomination if he was alive today. I do have a problem, however, with his deification.
“Don’t vote for the person who tells you you deserve something. Just don’t do it if it’s something other than life, liberty, or the pursuit of possible happiness. If everyone is telling you you deserve something, vote for the one who is promising you the least. Be suspicious of the man or woman who tell you deserve everything. Because you don’t.” ---Mike Rowe

He's nothing compared with Roosevelt.

An old lady who lived on a farm I used to hunt in the 60s had two framed photographs on her mantel.

One was her deceased husband, lying in his coffin. The other was FDR.

That was a pretty common gallery.

I like to remind liberals that JFK wasn't murdered by an evil capitalist.

They do that in North Korea as well.

So you don't consider Poppy Bush an evil capitalist?  :-)

I live my life by Occam's Razor, the bane of all liberals.

Hmm. Occam's Razor? Do the liberals not like it because it sounds like a personal hygiene devise or because as a philosophical premise it blows so much of their ideas out of the water? Probably both.

They do, however, tend to follow their on twisted version of it. For instance,

If there is a tornado in Illinois it is Bush's fault.
If you steal a remote then tell the entire world wide web about it and the organization from which the remote was stolen finds out about it it is the Caves fault.
If you add "........................." to anything it makes you deep and thoughtful.
If someone with a fatal disease dies either Bush or coach whacked 'em.
If 0 plays golf and the military takes out a bad guy then 0 is a Rambo hero with the wisdom of Sun Tzu.

Slander!! George W. Bush has killed no one.

Anyone whacked by coach either had a terminal illness, or would have had one sooner or later.

Everybody's gotta die from something.

Coach just helps some of them on their journey.

I didn’t mention any particular Bush; however, since you have mentioned it, I have a friend who actually met George W. Bush back when W was president. My friend was doing some sort of work, don't know what kind, in some location where W was in attendance. My friend said that W took the time to go around and talk to and shake the hands of the workers. My friend said that W was the nicest guy you’d ever want to meet. Sound familiar? Have you ever seen coach and W in the same place at the same time?
