I'd find out what the Nuclear Cat did with the money for the dog's surgery first.  She raked in $1100 and then didn't even post if the dog had the surgery or not.   I'm thinking something else might be going on in Sodom By The Sea.  Would you really send that much money to a woman who OD on drugs?

May be on to something here.   Last few years we had SCANDLE  up here when 2 Vets in different states got caught making out RX for some elderly persons dog or cat that cost $5.00 and the same RX for a Human cost $125.00

Don't know how they were caught unless the Pharmacist noticed that they were filling a RX for Dog or Cat for pain pills  every month for 18 years. 

I can see the point of a Vet. feeling sorry for old folks and when it comes to medicine or heat in the winter, doing this for humanitarian reasons.

If the Rx was being filled at a retail pharmacy the cost is the same, human or animal.
