I don't mean of conservatives or republicans. I'm not talking about politics. Is DU tolerant of non-conventional or non-politically correct opinions? Progressives are, by nature, tolerant. Its what differentiates us from conservatives, who don't tolerate anything that doesn't conform to their narrow, backward view of the world.

However, I can't count how many times i've seen people pounded down with "enjoying your stay?", or other threats to their progressive credentials just because they're not in lock step with the conventional DU opinion on matters that have nothing to do with politics.

Therefore, I would say no. Am I alone?

Actually, by nature, "progressives" are the least tolerant because they already think they know all the answers.

The very few people who actually do know all the answers and the greater majority of people who know they don't know all the answers are much more tolerant, IME.

I wonder if there is some kind of rule of thumb, like if you think you are insane then you aren't, if you think you are the most tolerant people then maybe you aren't?

They can call themselves progressives or any other name in the book but they are economic socalists.
That is a system that simply cannot work because human nature won`t allow it to.
The result of flirtation with it was Communisim which required the point of a sword to keep it going.

They can`t be tolerant because all attempts to enact their belief system have failed so to keep up the delusion that it can work they must shut out all facts to the contrary.

In short liberalism and tolerance are mutually exclusive which is why whenever they are challenged their reaction is to silence the challenge.
Constant calls to take Rush,Fox...etc off the air that sort of thing.

It boils down to this:  They call evil good and good evil and anyone who protests their definitions is called intolerant.

Just like so many words which liberals have rendered useless, "intolerant" doesn't really mean anything anymore.  It's just liberal code for "I'm losing the argument".
