Dr. Ben Carson is a world-renowned American neurosurgeon. He is a brilliant physician with an incredibly compelling and motivational story. Born into poverty in Detroit in 1951 and raised by a single mother with a third-grade education, Carson became the first surgeon to separate conjoined twins joined at the head and the youngest to lead a surgical department. His focus, work ethic and commitment to excellence should be emulated by as many as possible.

In the past year, Dr. Carson has emerged on the political scene as a spokesperson for conservative interests. Most recently he addressed the 2013 Values Voter Summit in Washington, DC, making the remarks referenced above.

"Obamacare" - or more accurately the Affordable Care Act (ACA) - is the worst thing in this nation since slavery? Really? I understand political diatribes and hyperbole, but the worst thing in America since slavery? How can reducing the number of uninsured Americans through an expansion of Medicaid and the creation of new health insurance exchange marketplaces be worse than slavery?

The 13th Amendment abolished slavery in America except as punishment for a crime in 1865. Since then, African-Americans have been lynched, had their farms confiscated, dealt with mass-incarceration, been denied the right to vote and had limited or no access to public and private facilities. For an African-American of Dr. Carson's intellect and stature to publically make such assertions is historically inaccurate, irresponsible and promotes many of the racist stereotypes that are being used to garner support to overturn the law. ...................(more)

I don't like to use the word hate, but if it ever were to apply.. I think it's because I watched the film about him, and thought it was a cool story. I felt totally betrayed when I discovered that he's a disgusting POS.

     I miss the days of DU where they were still allowed to call black people Uncle Tom. They still do it, just not with their keyboards.

     Meanwhile Carson is more accomplished by a factor of two than the most accomplished DUmmy ever dreamt of being. Sorry, DUmmies, but Dr. Carson won't live on your plantation.

Sadly this DUchebag hit the head of the nail. A world renown heart surgeon and pioneer in his field does make the black community not disappointed but hate this fine man. This is what the evil policies of the racist democrat party has done to the black community. That's what every talented physician will be doing in 10 years if this ACA crap is still in place - the bottom tenth of every medical school graduating class will become ACA approved doctors and the cream of the crop will serve on a cash-only basis.

     In the liberal view of the world, no black person can have done anything of their own will, accord, talent, and determination. Success HAS to be attributed to set-asides from liberal white folks and the government,
so anytime someone like Dr. Carson goes off the reservation, it's a personal affront to them. How DARE he not worship at the feet of the benevolent white people who made his success possible?

The video posted by Rebel is interesting, but until I see blacks not voting 90%+ for Dems, it's all talk. They have provided no reason for the Dems not to take them for granted.
