These were the interviews in which Nixon was supposed to come clean. Never really happened, though they were revealing...
I always found it interesting that the major news networks weren't interested in handling these interviews. According to the Wiki article on the Nixon interviews, Tricky Dick was having a cash flow problem (he'd been out of the public eye for 3 years or so) and he had his lawyers to pay off), so he wanted to sell his story, figuring that Frost would be lobbing softballs throughout. Nixon was paid $600K and 20% of the profits.
That didn't happen either. Frost had done his homework and it became clear that Nixon had obstructed justice particularly when he said, "Well, when the president does it, that means it is not illegal."
Forty-five million viewers watched these interviews in 1977, which is the record for the largest number of viewers for a political interview -- that record still stands today.
It would appear that Barry has learned well from Nixon's statement -- if the prez does it, that means it isn't illegal.
And I'll guarantee you that the recording devices are shut off in the Oval Office, the few written records are purged, and the lies continue to flow out of Barry's administration.
