Long-range drones are a toy that will be fun as long as we aren't using them on anyone who has both a real air force and a real problem with us flying them into their airspace.  Most of the places we operate them, either the targets have no effective countermeasures or the government nominally in power that despite any public bluster privately agrees to let us do it in order to eliminate people they find as annoying as we find threatening.  Once real air defense or counterair takes an interest in them, they have about the life expectancy of a V1 with four Typhoons on its ass.

I am sure that Iran has also communicated to Syria how easy it is to bring down the drones without an Air Force, and also how much fun it is denying the very polite request from the current White hut occupier to ship them back.
