Nadin expecting a long day, still makes little sense

Ah...we expect a long day...

We are leaving soon for the resignation watch. At one city council is expected to have a comment period. Then closed session to vote on whether they accept or not the terms for resignation.

It was reported that McCormack-Jackson agreed to a six figure settlement and now Gloria Alldred is trying to scuttle this. Oy...too many moving parts.

Suffice to say.
There were only two options for gender. At last count there are at least 12, according to libs. By that standard, I'm a male lesbian.

I can see her awaiting the press conference with all the other journos.

Perched on her chair, bundled in Nomex, her little size 3 Barbie combat boots dangling eight inches above the floor, Bowie knife peeking out, the top of her head glistening with sweat, thinly covered by a few strands of combover, The Good Rig clutched in her stubby little fingers. An unpaid pro journo, through and through, ready to pounce on a scoop.

What does this have to do with brush fires and the local Gardner's growing roses ???

Come on Nads you have your zone to cover, what are you and your good rig doing at city hall ?

While you are wandering around off base, someone may grow a cabbage size rose and another reporter will get in, take pictures and sell them to the AP.  Any idea how many people devote their lives to growing unusual Roses ???

These small brush fires do at times spread and burn down 90 acres, while you are getting the scoop on some ass hat that is being watched by the paid media, some one else is watching the fire spread and getting paid by AP  for their photo's.

Have to make up your mind what you want to cover as a reporter, something that you can get exclusive rights to.    Don't waste your time on the story's that are covered by others-- get out there to uncover the story's that have meaning to the people that may have interest.

  His terms:

Quote
San Diego Mayor Bob Filner’s resignation deal is only effective if the City Council agrees to pay all his legal fees and any settlements that might stem from his numerous sexual harassment charges — a trade-off that could cost taxpayers big bucks, a local media outlet reported.

The Los Angeles Times predicted such an agreement could mean taxpayers get stuck with several hundreds of thousands of dollars in legal bills. That aspect of the deal was just released — about the same time his ex-fiancee offered this reaction to Mr. Filner’s alleged harassment of 18 women: “I don’t think it has anything to do with sex or love,” Bronwyn Ingram said to CBS. “I think it has to do with power and control.”

He still insists that he is "taking full responsibility for his conduct."

She was live-tweeting for her vast Twitter audience.

She doesn't know the difference between "refused" and "recused", or the disgraced mayor's name, but so what ,that isn't required knowledge for a journo:

I think she was actually scribbling in a notebook, apparently she ****ed up and wasted her recorder on crowd noise.  * Pro-Tip nadin; there are many free apps that allow you to record audible events on your smart phone.

Now, now.....

Our dear Nadin is hot on the trail of the San Diego mafia!

Well this will be fun...

She's looking for the story behind Filner:

4. Well the warning to city council was a warning about the very real

downtown developer mafia.
Fun fact, fourth pol driven out on a rail for crossing them in twenty five years.

He provided the ammunition though, and he admitted that.

What he said though that was significant and important (and that the rest of the media will ignore) is the progressive vision and going back to the neighborhoods needs to continue. Just because he made his mistakes that vision should not be abandoned. The people voted for that vision because they are tired of politics as usual downtown. (And he owned that as a serious mistake)

His statement, I have to copy and paste his statement into an MP3 file on it's own. I think that would be best for the radio in full. To be honest all that statements before Council most folks will not sit through them.

The rest. I am glad I had the SD card on the recorder, I ran out of space on it after two + hours of recording.

What I will include though is what is very true. The people demanding his head on a platter came from well heeled areas of the city. Those who were supporting him did not. The split was about fifty fifty in the statements before Council left to take their vote. The least represented communities are very much still behind him. Those are the regions of the city I expect to see vote depressed in the special election, more than usual.

But we are also looking at the developer aspect and who controls politics downtown. I have been asking all this time, and FINALLY got a thread that when pulled I went... HOLEEE SHIT!!! There is something to this. By the way, that is completely separate from his problems with women and have to do far more with politics downtown. Some folks here believe that is conflating, but I think it is a matter of hardball politics. We cover several city councils and we know of at least another city council where the developers own it.

6. We did, and we started chasing that aspect of the story

after I finally got a thread to pull.

I have been asking for a month, since this started. Is this the downtown mafia? None would go on record, especially the minority business people who support him. Finally they mentioned Sunroad... well I went looking into the case in 2007... mind you, I am not done yet. And yes, the City Attorney was run out of town for trying to enforce the law.

2003 Mayor Murphy (a republican) was run out of town in a financial scandal (that was never prosecuted), after turning his attention to the neighborhoods.

Roger Hedgecock, for whom I have no love, he was also run out of office and served time in jail in the 1980s.

Perhaps it is all coincidence, or perhaps there is a fire here. So, we have little to lose.

Some here think that I am conflating them, but no I am not. My job is to try to find out what the hell is actually going on? And I think the sexual harassment, which will have to be settled in a court of law, or settled in mediation, is just the first layer of the onion. And this is an onion.

NEWS Flash, Nads style.

My Fowler's, my friends.       I have some bad news for you.     Saturday while running to get the scoop on a big time story that will amaze you, I stepped into a pot hole that should not have been there and broke my ankle and foot itself.     I fell into a lump into the street , so embarrassing, and a kind Liberal was good enough to call a TOE truck for me.

I will need 6 weeks for all to heel, mean while I will be down to pulling scanner duty 24/7 to keep you up to date.

gNads' next big scoop:

Potential Successor for San Diego Mayor has Alleged History of Openly Masturbating in Public Restrooms

He's the Carlos Danger of the West!

Dang it all where did you find that picture, I want one to hang in my guest bathroom over the toilet.

To heck with all those reprints of the American dream, this one says it all.

Come to think about it, a good poster size of that picture over my fireplace would become a conversation starter.
