White House: Health reform hasn't hurt jobs

"SNIP......................................

The White House pushed back on Monday against allegations that healthcare reform is hurting jobs and the economy.

In fact, the restaurant industry – given by many critics as the prime example of a place where jobs and hours would be cut if employers had to provide health insurance – is adding jobs, said a senior administration official, who spoke on condition that he not be identified.

“Restaurants have had the fastest job growth among the industries, and even faster than what would be predicted by their sales growth,” said the official.

In addition, health care costs are slowing and by one measure, inflation in health care spending is the lowest it’s been in 49 years, says Council of Economic Advisers chairman Alan Krueger. And to further make its point, the White House posted a Tumblr page extolling the virtues of health reform.

Well gee if the White house says that 0bamacare isn't hurting jobs, it must be true, right?  :rotf: :rotf: :rotf: :rotf:

Aren't most of those jobs part time? Wouldn't they also be considered McJobs? Oh wait McJobs only applies when a repuke is in the white house.  :whatever:

Seriously the white house has no credibility on anything, especially this since they lied their asses off in order to pass the bill that needed to be passed to see what's in it.

Of course the low information voters will buy this.

I may not lock my doors while sitting at a red light and a black man is near, but I sure as hell grab on tight to my wallet when any democrats are close by.

Let me refer to lib rule number 1 and 2, and I will get back to you.
There were only two options for gender. At last count there are at least 12, according to libs. By that standard, I'm a male lesbian.

I'm too tired to read the leftist imbeciles propaganda but if it means full time jobs then yes it has, look just an inch deeper into the 0bama regime's numbers and it is quite apparent And you know I'm tired of giving a shit about those that are beneath me. Those that are not as smart. Those that choose not to  work hard. I have throughout my life have brought others up by my ingenuity and hard work. I stopped that when I sold my company and have felt bad about the ones that worked for me. THANK YOU DUmp for freeing me of that guilt and only looking out for myself It has been a long journey but I think that through your hatred and intolerance I will sleep well knowing that the leftists have killed the 15 high paying jobs is certainly not my fault.

I tried to beat the regulations but the regulations won....and my former employees hurt. Congratulations big state kalifornia government you won and the middle class lost.  HOOOOOORAHHHHH!!!!

Henry Ford introduced the 40 hour work week.

Barack Obama legislated the 29 hour work week.

Beautifully said!

BTW I will steal that and maybe give credit....but probably not.

Help yourself.

BTW, Ford offered the $5-day and the 40-hour work week a decade before the UAW put its death grip on American industry.  Remember that next time some union goon tells you to thank them for the 5-day workweek you enjoy today.

ObamaCrap isn't hurting jobs, yet Obama decided to no enforce the employer mandate. Why?  Because employers were not hiring, and cutting hours to avoid it.  Obama is as smart about economics as he is about the Constitution.

Here's how it works.

I have a minimum wage floor sweeping job need that requires a 40 hour work week. (Like the carpenter job my neighbor across the road USED to have.)

Along comes ObamaCare.

If I hire somebody at 40 hours per week at minimum wage, I have to pay for health coverage at an exorbitant cost. I can choose between not hiring which subtracts one potential job from the economy. Or I can hire two 29 hour per week (or less) part timers at minimum wage without the added expense of ObamaCare.

ERGO, ObamaCare has "created" at least one "new" job........

BTW, Matt, my neighbor across the road, now fronts shelves in our local grocery store - part time at minimum wage of course.

I was just talking to my fried on the phone. His wife works at a local school district 30 hours a week. There is talk of cutting her work week by 15 minutes to get her under the 30 hour cap. Other new full time positions were being reconsidered in that district but because of ACA those positions were being converted to under 30 hours per week.

Cognitive dissidence goes to the top of the 0bama regime. I wonder what this high level official's DUmp moniker is?

I traced back to the original article to see the comments on this ridiculous lie, who was buying it?  The comments were all clogged up by one obamabot running around, posting panicky screeds after every other comment.  Who can wade through that crap?

A soon-to-be-opened call center meant to help teach the public about ObamaCare is under fire for offering many of its new employees part-time positions — in turn denying them benefits under the very law they are helping to implement.

The Contra Costa Times reports the call center, which is set to be opened Oct. 1, attracted about 7,000 applicants for 200 jobs after the county won the right to operate it earlier this year. Many workers and local politicians say they believed that the majority of the positions at the center would be full-time with benefits.

However, about half the workers were actually offered part-time positions with no benefits. Some say they only learned the positions were part-time after completing an orientation earlier this month.

"It reminded me of that George Clooney movie where he goes around the country firing people ('Up in the Air')," an employee who wished to remain anonymous told the Contra Costa Times. "The woman said, 'I know you were led to believe you would be full time, but things have changed. ... You are actually 'part-time intermittent.'"

So, what we have here is obamacare killing obamacare jobs. Isn't that ironic.
