Your avatar looks like a coaxial helicopter.
It is, it's a helicopter that can literally be folded into a suitcase.
There were only two options for gender. At last count there are at least 12, according to libs. By that standard, I'm a male lesbian.

Is that a coaxial?  Is it electric?

I fly cheapie little electric RC ones- three and four channel when I get the time, which doesn't seem to be too often anymore.

I'm not quite full time, but pretty close. 30ish hours a week, and as you all know, I'm disabled. I'm beating the odds.

I am the 47%, DUmmies!!

Coaxial, gas powered, not RC.

That's my biggest fear right now.  My husband & I are both very fortunate to have full-time, 40+ hrs a week work.  The + sign is for overtime when we are lucky to get it.  The overtime opportunities have slowed down.

I work my ass off so my hours are safe for now. A few lazy co workers can't understand why their hours have been cut.

Some of them support Obama but are not even registered to vote. Stupid on top of stupid.

One of our most profitable departments has a drop in sales when the snowbirds leave and other residents take off on vacations to cooler climates, each one of the employees is now only working 30 hours a week.....there are a couple single moms in that department. Usually there is enough people taking vacation time that the hours stay consistent, but they recently hired a few new faces, and they do not qualify for vacation yet. I used to work full time in that department but I took a new opportunity within our location about 15 months ago. Now I just fill in for them when needed. It requires a special license from the state board of registration to work back there, so that is why things work out well for me. It's a department full of back stabbing women now, and they often call in sick. So I cash in on the overtime.  :-)

That is great, for their loss, is your gain. But, it is scary with that ratio. . If it goes on like this, there won't be enough employed to take care of the unemployed...

They will get their hours back in September. Our population goes up when the seasonal residents show up.

Less people are sick during the summer, we are a wellness provider on top of other things.

I just do what ever it takes. At times I have difficult schedules, but that is part of life. I took it upon myself to learn all I could so I could be utilized in any department, in any capacity, and it has paid off.

Nevada has crazy wage laws. Most of my coworkers get overtime after 8 hours in a work day, due to my wage I am exempt until I hit 10 hours in a day. I make too much per hour. They also consider a work day a 24 hour time period. So if you work start working at 10 AM one day, and then return at 7 AM the next, the first three hours would be overtime. Since I am exempt, I am the lucky one that gets the crazy shifts.  :-) It's not uncommon for me to work until 11 PM and return at 7 AM. I really don't mind.

Hang tough RJ. It's paying off, maybe not so as you realize it very much now, but you will.

I'm glad to be part of that particular 47%. If any DUmmys end up in here , take it from me... Hard work is a good thing.

The week of Thanksgiving 2012, I started a new job as a security guard in a hospital. in January, before my 90 day probation was up I was already promoted to sergeant (asst. shift supervisor). In April I was promoted again to lieutenant (shift supervisor). Now, less than one year into the job, I'm going to be sitting down with my company owner to discuss taking over my own site as a site manager... Less than one year of hard work DUmmys has taken me to a supervisory role over people with years of experience but no drive or ambition.

Not a luxurious life here, but its comfortable. Got a nice apartment, always have food, can take the girlfriend out to dinner once and a while, a nice car... Beats living with Uncle Sucker paying for everything, though the fact I'm paying you moochers does piss me off to no end.

How is your mom getting along.

My mom started having some health problems while on vacation this Spring. She had to fly home early leaving the car behind. It took most of May for me to get it all straightened out. The humidity was too high in the Midwest and her asthma became really bad. One day at a time.

Keep on keeping on Rob. One day the boss will look around and you will have quietly become the one guy he/she cannot afford to lose. There is something to be said for institutional knowledge and something to be said for the guy that the boss can put in any position and that person can get the job done.  Once that happens the money will come your way. My dad taught me that and it has worked well for me.   :cheersmate: :cheersmate:

I actually make more then two of our managers. :-) I've had my glory days and high incomes, now other things are important.

This job is to keep me comfortable and close to my mother. Nevada's unemployment is high, my town's unemployment is really high.  I will eventually migrate back into the automotive world, either repair or sales management. It's just a tough market right now.  I am also the only one that is available to take care of my mom.

The last time my mom became sick she was at my sister's. My sister put her on a plane and sent her home to me.

I understand taking care of a parent, Rob. Been thru that with Dad for 5 years until he finally died. It's like another full time job and it drains you to the bone. Best of luck to ya!   :cheersmate: :cheersmate:
