As an overwhelming percentage of Hispanics identify themselves as white rather than black, the non-hispanic white offender percentage is certain to be much lower than 41%, while the percentage for "black" should not decrease nearly as much, if Hispanic heritage is accounted for.

The statistics above are striking in light of recent findings reported here that an overwhelming number of whites owned guns compared to members of other racial groups.
The small number of responses are what one might expect, mostly finding imaginary flaws in the statistics.

By saying this you're saying urban areas are where the majority of blacks live.  I agree.

By saying there's a strong support for gun control in urban areas, you are in essence saying that blacks are too immature to properly handle guns and need to be regulated.  That's racist.

I thought it was kind of funny that Mr. Zimmerman said that George was as white as Obama was. They both had a parent that was white and the other was not.

Every murderer in any of the Law & Order issues is a white man, usually Christian too boot. I've watched quite a few of these and it turns out that not a single black person has ever committed a crime in NYC.

I knew the statistics, but I hadn't thought much about it before as one the main reasons DUmmies so adamantly refuse to discuss root causes of violence in the U.S. and instead go straight for the gun-grabbing - it would force them to confront the racial issues. It is also why they concentrate almost exclusively on mass murders, which account for only a small percentage of gun crime, as opposed to individual murders and assaults. Now it seems clear.

Indeed. In that respect, on the issue of the death penalty, liberals are able to openly accuse conservatives of racism regardless of which stand they take:
If conservatives demand more death sentences be given for murders, the liberals accuse them of racial profiling, deliberately and disproportionately targeting blacks for death sentences.
If, however, conservatives demand that fewer death sentences be given for murders, the liberals then proceed to accuse them of racially- motivated apathy, of not caring about crimes committed against blacks.

It's like looking at the Zimmerman case. The libs are shouting murder/racism in the face of evidence to the contrary. The conservatives are, for the most part, sitting back and waiting to see what happens in the courtroom.
