Name the last really awesome book you read....

Odd Hours by Dean Koontz.  It is part 4 of the Odd Thomas series that I love love love love love!  Plus, don't tell anyone but it has a decidedly conservative bent running through it.

I am reading The Travelers by John Twelve Hawks right now.  The book is incredible!  I picked it up for a quarter at a sale and decided finally to read it.  It is a series too.
All the great things are simple, and many can be expressed in a single word: freedom, justice, honor, duty, mercy, hope.

I'm reading John Adams by McCullough right now.

I really enjoyed The Devil in the White City by Erik Larson.

Just finished The Rising Tide by Jeff Shaara. It's as good as his other stuff. Maybe "awesome" is strong.

Last awesome book I read was The Master and Margarita by Mikhail Bulgakov. (Christmas gift from SIL) I really loved it. Love, loss, deals with the Devil and lots of storylines. A classic. Also, it's really a "classic".  :-)
"When you see that trading is done, not by consent, but by compulsion - when you see that in order to produce, you need to obtain permission from men who produce nothing - when you see that money is flowing to those who deal, not in goods, but in favors - when you see that men get richer by graft and by pull than by work, and your laws don't protect you against them, but protect them against you - when you see corruption being rewarded and honesty becoming a self-sacrifice - you may know that your society is doomed."

"Emergency Deep" by Michael DiMercurio. A book in a series about a sub captain turned CIA agent hired to stop terroist from getting a Russian nuclear sub and using it to nuke Israel.

He has written a lot of other books about subs and sub warfare.
