   phone, email and snail mail John Conyers, who heads the judiciary committee. If you have a Congressperson that sits on the committee contact them too. Do it every week until the recess or until they hold a hearing with all members present and with the intent of holding a public investigation.

As to oil prices, California will make 2.8 BILLION dollars more in taxes this year at $4/gallon than last year.  Now that is about 72 cents/gallon and goes up due to sales tax constatly.

Last time I checked the sate of california does nothing to help get us gas and pretty much everything to not get us gas.  What entity should be charged with windfall profits?

I was thinking about the floods and tornadoes out in the midwest today.  It occurs to me that worse flooding occurred sometime around 1990 and in another year, there was above average tornadoes.  It may just be that in the midwest in any given ten year period there will be at least one year of unusual flooding and one year with an unusual amount of tornadoes.  It is also known that prior to 1900's crops failed reliably once every seven years or so, for any of a number of reasons. 


I haven't checked the history books to confirm tornadoes and flooding, but something tells me I wouldn't be much surprised. 

As for tornadoes being spawned by Global Warming? Try again, DUmmie.  If you want a lot of tornadoes what you really need is a mass of cold air unusually far south come late spring and early summer.  Guess what happened this year.
