  :lol

My story on why my daughter would not shop with me starts when she was 14 years old.

We went to a Mall and there was a fur store we decided to check out just for giggles.   I had left my reading glasses in the car so unless the prices and origion of fur were printed in good size I had a problem.

I followed her about the store as she told me the prices and origion of the coats and wraps. We came to one spectacular coat with what I though was a price of $3,000 bucks.   The origion was Russia and the type of fur all I could see was RA----.  I jumped to conclusions and called to her to see the coat made of friggin RAT fur. I was aghast at price and the animal it came from.
...
This would be a good place to apply the trivium before jumping to conclusions.

Have I ever heard of a rat fur coat?
Do I know what rat fur looks like?
Does it make sense that a high end store would sell an expensive coat made of rat fur?
Does anything in my experience support the existence of a $3000 coat made of rat fur?
Do I know I have trouble reading clothing tags when I don't have my reading glasses with me?

These are just questions I would ask myself before freaking out. YMMV.

much to the relief of the clerk who had been trying to help her, my niece gave up and decided we should leave.

That wasn't relief.  that was embarassment for what you were doing to your niece in public.

Your niece gave up because she didn't want you continue making an ass out of yourself in public.

$5 says she went home and asked your sister/her mom if you were adopted.

Good luck looking for that "Union Label".

Why not just ask Algore...his mother used to sing him the "Union Label" song before it actually became a song...kinda like TiT was a part of Seal Team 6 before there was a Seal Team 6 (both should have taken a Google 101 class from Nadin).

In the fur business, "rats" are muskrats.

Muskrat fur, properly prepared and dyed, rivals mink or any other luxury fur, at a lower price.

It would not be unusual for a fur coat made from muskrat pelts to retail for several thousand dollars.
