I bet there are several primitives trying to find a way to tie child abuse charges to many of the good and civilized people posting on this thread.

Id make a vulgar reference directed toward the primitives at this point - but we all know that at least half of them would like to participate in whatever activity the vulgarity references. -So I won't.

- And yet it is normal to give a child birth control. Go figure....

The ones that survive being aborted, that is.

No, it's not normal to give a child a gun

To everyone here who grew up in this sick gun culture, I'm truly sorry, but you're upbringing has contributed to the death of a 2 year old girl at the hands of her 5 year old brother.

Just think of it as a very late term abortion.  You people are cool with that, right?

Different "tools", different "procedure", different "doctor", same result:  A child dies.

What's the big deal?  [/DUmode]

No, it's not normal to give a child a gun Depends on the child

It is NOT normal to be given a gun at 8 years old, and it is NOT normal to "learn to respect" guns early. Horse manure!!! I was around firearms since I was able to walk and got a .22 rifle for my 7th birthday. It was understood that I was never to touch it and I could only fire it if either my Dad or Granddad was supervising. I never ever dreamed of taking it out of the rack unless Dad said to. The same happened with my brother and sister.

This misguided notion is why a 2 year old is now dead. Her mother made the same mistake that EVERY PARENT EVER has made. She turned her back for a second. It happens. We are all human. But when you have a deadly weapon thrown into the mix? Well that turns a minor accident into an irreversible tragedy.

It has to stop. Just because you were raised a certain way does not mean you were raised the right way. That's how people grow and mature as human beings, by realizing that, hey, maybe mom and pops shouldn't have done this or that? Maybe it's NOT ok to teach your children to love guns.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: people need to grow up. Especially dummies!!![/color]
