I would be ashamed and emabarrassed if I had a twelve year old daughter, who was pregnant. I would consider and talk the best course of action, getting together with the father, his parents, and a legal mentor. Providing my daughter carries the full nine months, I would gently suggest putting the infant up for adoption, and the treason why, is so the daughter will always remember. If she had aborted, I feel that would send the wrong message, that she can use abortion as a method of birth control.

Well, I happen to agree with you. She's way too young to make such decisions.

And this is her life you're talking about. She has no idea at such a young age. Perhaps you could talk to someone at Planned Parenthood or to a counselor to advise her. Certainly no one her own age can possibly have a clue. She's just a child, so can't be expected to understand, and it makes no sense that the boyfriend's parents can't realize that. We're not even talking about a teenager here. Since you are her medical proxy, and her parent and guardian, that should count for a lot. I'd still consult a lawyer and/or an experienced counselor, since it's not just a difference of opinion, but a child who needs help to make a decision that's in her own interest, which she's just not capable of at such a young age. I am so sorry that you're faced with this...

Strangely enough, I seem to recall the DUmp making the argument that a 12 year old IS old enough, mature enough, wise enough, to make the choice to abort.  Now, how can it be that a kid can be old enough to choose murder, but not old enough to choose life?

What a mess, possibility's on both sides are a nightmare.   What ever she chooses there are herself, the baby, the father, 4 grand parents whose lives will never be the same.

It would be oh so convenient to hog tie the 12 year old and force her to be operated on and sterilized .

Up until the late 70's one State in the south did this to girls considered  "AT RISK" by the courts.
Dirty little secret was 99% of the young girls were Black.

This is very personal to me as I was told that I had to abort my 6 month pregnancy as the baby was shutting down both my kidneys.  I refused and both sides of the family including the father made me feel that to indanger MY life for an unborn would be a crime against my other two children.

 When my son was born both sides were all huffy that although born 6 weeks early he was smart and strongest one of my kids. Their guilt trips as they watched him grow and I recover caused great tension in the family. Every one of his achievements were like a slap in the face to them.

Never know how things will turn out, never know how people will react to advising one to do  something and when advice not followed show what damn fools they are.

thanks!! Unfortunately I haven't responded to enough links to start my own? Kinda odd. Anyway, in this situation, due to the whole patient privacy acts, I never had to be informed that she was pregnant. Yet because she went to planned parenthood, because I had scheduled the appointment, they contacted DCF and I know have them watching to make sure I make her go to all the appointments. Yet I don't have to be informed of them?? And when at the appointment, she had no idea WHAT a spectulm was or what it did. She was all for aborting until the boyfriend had something to say about it. He'd leave her. She was a murderer and everything else he could fill her head with. Doctors told her about her risks but she doesn't acknowledge. Yet, she didn't even know what the term bowel movement was!! Not that u would really expect a twelve year old too!! Yet.. Once again.. I get no say. I don't understand how that works. But god forbid she's not making the appointments!! I'm held responsible!! Not to mention, I'm not in a good spot financially yet who will end up paying for it?? She can't. She is t even old enough to get welfare. So what to do??

I'm pretty sure this is a mole - There is no way to respond to the OP's thread without it being the wrong answer. However, it is a tragedy of liberal indoctrination & policy if it isn't.  So this is a lose-lose situation. Well crafted idea -but sadly for the probable mole, it was way too early to spring this on them. The mole should have built up massive street cred in the feminists group first.

Even though I don't disagre with you, a few decades ago, that would have made more sense than today. We are going on to our second generation after the onslaught atack on traditional family values by various portions of our government that are designed to undermine parents and their control over their children. The process needs to be reversed. Imposng such a measure right now would make the situation worse where parents are legally not able to assert more control over their children but are held responsible if the children become wrong-doers. That's effectively what he have right now except the children don't have to become wrong-doers. All that it takes to destroy a child and their family is one anonymous call to CPS by a spineless worm. We have to give control back to parents before we can expect them to have that level of accountability. Otherwise, one arm of the government will be holding parents responsible for bad behavior that was promoted (many times against the parent's knowledge or will) by another government agency.
