Terry, that was most excellent. This needs to be stuck at the top.

So Stinky the Clown is a big Ben Carson fan.

You'd think someone from Stinky's zip code wouldn't be all that familiar with people of color.

Who knew?
According to the Bible, "know" means "yes."

I hope this gets some notice from the island.
Nothing will be said over there.
Then-Chief Justice John Marshall observed, “Between a balanced republic and a democracy, the difference is like that between order and chaos.”

John Adams warned in a letter, “Remember democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There never was a democracy yet, that did not commit suicide.”

Finally, a wonderful, deserving choice to receive a Presidential Medal of Freedom

Dr. Ben Carson, a pediatric neurosurgeon, today was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

His story is well and widely known and is summed up well, if too briefly, on Wikipedia.

Beyond his incredible surgical skills, he is a true humanitarian and a wonderful, wonderful man. I can't think of anyone who could possibly deserve this medal more. I only wish it were someone other than that buffoon who had the honor to award it to him.

The news story -----> http://wjz.com/local/ben.carson.johns.2.750416.html

**Please** read this link ------> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Benjamin_Carson

On edit ..... I have NEVER asked to have one of my posts kicked to the Greatest Page. I make an exception for this news. Please celebrate this great man.

3. You hit on one of the things that make him so remarkable ......

(And yeah .... its an old picture. He's much grayer now.)

He and his wife established a charitable foundation that gives $1,000 to kids who show academic exceptionalness. His goal is to have one 'Carson Scholar' in every school in the country.

In my view, his incredible skills as a surgeon are eclipsed by his concern for the young people of our country .... and the world.

8. Its funny you mention that .......

..... he just did one of those on an 8 year girl this past Monday. Obviously these things take a while to know for sure how they turn out, but the kid is already doing remarkably well. It is amazing to me that they can do this and the kid will recover and compensate for the missing brain part.

He is a very, very smart man.

Some people are so quietly worthy of our admiration .......

"Your life is not about where you came from, but, rather, about where you're going. And *you* have a lot to say about where you're going"

The above quote from a man I greatly admire, Dr. Ben Carson. The context of the quote is a teevee interview on our local nooz. They've made a movie about his life (starring Cuba Gooding, Jr., as Doctor Carson). Dr. Carson was summing his view of what the movie is about.

If you don't know his story, do yourself a favor and google him up. It is worth the effort. It is a gross understatement to describe him as the world's preeminent pediatric neurosurgeon.

I shall be at the movie when it comes to town.

3. He's very popular in Jamaica

He's closely linked to the Adventists and did a keynote speech for them a few years ago.

He's a superb surgeon and a good man, but I avoid people who are confused on matters separation of church and state.

4. Well .... yeah .... there is that.

He is deeply religious, I know t hat. I am unaware of his being a horizontal christian**, however. He has always stuck me as being much more a Vertical Christian***.

**horizontal christian: Prays loudly with eyes darting to and fro to see who is watching. Holds arms horizontal as if to keep the gaze of those around him.

***Vertical Christian: Prays quietly with eyes closed or uplifted. Raises hand in an effort to keep it all between him and his god.

Liberal thinking is a two-legged stool and magical thinking is one of the legs, the other is a combination of self-loating and misanthropy.  To understand it, you would have to be able to sit on that stool while juggling two elephants, an anvil and a fragmentation grenade, sans pin.
