I heard something or someone crying or whimpering...
« on: January 14, 2013, 01:48:25 PM »
Earlier today as I sat quietly reading, I heard something or someone crying or whimpering.  It sounded distant like it was outside, so I went to investigate.

I looked outside in the front, back and side of the house.  I even checked on the kitties to make sure they were all accounted for and okay.  I couldn't find anything.  So I went back to my chair, sat down and started reading again.  There it was again...that whimpering noise.  I just sat there for a minute listening and finally realized that the sound was coming from me!  Evidently I was wheezing and the noise was coming from my throat.  Don't tell anyone I told you this stuff.  :rotf:

I once heard a man crying outside my window at my old house. Was weird. Glad I moved.

I thought I was the Old Wheezer. I have COPD so it is natural for me to be wheezing.
Our Bill of Rights constitutes a cluster of little foxholes of liberty ground into the hard cold face of history by helpless men for a shield against the lash of tyrants. They are the result of distrust of power and distrust of men in power. They are a recognition of Lord Acton's statement of a truth eternal--"power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely."
