In the mental DUunhealth forum, we discover DUDennis has trouble with credit card debt.  Afraid to open bill.  In Jan 2012 credit card debt was equal to annual net income, down to only 2/3 in August.

Hi. The reality of a situation is hitting home. I really f'ed up something.
Yeah. I don't even know where to begin to start on this one .... Back to the angst-filled posts. Well, not quite as bad as where I was. Not irrational or ranting, more like I am trying to admit I have a problem so I can deal with it.

You have read a lot of stuff from me, A LOT, ever since I started posting here in August. A lot of really personal, embarassing things. Things which would mortify me discussing in the flesh and blood world. All of my father's kinky behavior. All of my irrational gloom and doom. Crap like that.

This is worse. Well, worse for me to admit anyway ... Admit what I have done in the last 4 months.

I haven't even been brave enough to look at my credit card statements for months. Just ignore them when they show up. More than ignore. Avoid. Purposefully avoid. To the extent that I just wrote smallish payment checks and a cover letter and mailed to the payments address I had copied down for both issuers back around Labor Day. That way I wouldn't have to look.

Well, I had to look. Couldn't avoid it any more.

Self-Inflicted Disaster. Of epic proportions. I was shocked at the balances. And by the fact I am very near credit limits. Never been there before..........(there is more, edited out)

In bicycle forum we discover that alligator eyes can indeed overpower hummingbird wallets, and common sense.

Hey, I just bought a Surly Pugsley snow/trail bike
Looked at it at my local favorite bike shop a few weeks ago. Then I went to a presentation on winter biking last week at REI, and the thing stuck in my mind. Plus, it was on sale $1350, marked down from MSRP of $1699. So cost me like $1550 out the door with a few add-ons and tax (6 percent here in Michigan).

6. Yeah, my MasterCard is gonna burst into flames.  Just dropped about $2500 in Sept. on my Specialized.
And these people are allowed to vote for the ones who control the national debt/budget, then seem surprised when the debt is more than is healthy.
This too shall pass.

Like a typical liberal, he'll just default on his bills and leave those of us who actually pay our bills with the tab.
Help keep America beautiful...deface a liberal.

The Democrat and Republican parties are simply the left and right wings of the same bird of prey.

The road to freedom is paved with dead liberals.

And whine about the eeeevil GOP that caused it to happen because damnit!!! They should be paid $100 per hr to sit on their ass and type incoherent rants on the internet.

He's so worried about his credit card debt that he bought his sister, whom he hates, an iPad for Christmas.

It wont matter to you a bit when they lock you away as the sex offender you have admitted to be.

We will all be stuck with the tab but thankfully your time left here will probably be short.

You gotta be kidding me.

I don't have the link, and can't remember if it was in the nuthatch or the lounge.

He said something about his sister, who's normally attacking and criticizing him for being a lunatic, was being nicer.

So he gave her this iPad or tablet computer for Christmas and she burst into tears.

He said he didn't think she'd be so emotional about it.

One of the other DUmbasses opined that she might be devastated by worry over his continued insane spending habits.

I believe you; it's utterly credible for a primitive, and so no need to try to find any link.

Isn't running amok with a credit card something that 18-24 year-olds do?

Isn't Dennis the Menace like about twice too old for that nonsense?

Will primitives ever grow up?

I know, I know; stupid questions.

But damn.

  • Where are you going? I was gonna make espresso!

I wish.  Sadly, it's something my ex-wife also did, then left me with the bill.  Of course, should I ever dare mention it to her, I'm "mean" and "irresponsible" because SHE had bills.  Scoobie could tell you all about the e-mail exchange the ex and I had over Thanksgiving weekend.

That was a real hoot.

Well, I am capable of being happy. I had the best day.

This afternoon, strapped on snowshoes and went down to the local park and back, about 5 miles total. One heck of a workout .
Ka-ching.

Another reason you need to copy dates with the posts.
