 Taverner (51,422 posts)

There are no flags in heaven
There are no flags in heaven
No signs of empires great
No flags of generals or kings
No presidents of nation states

There are no uniforms in paradise
No guns of steel and lead
No bombs that kill a thousand
No scores of victims dead

There are no yellow ribbons
In heaven high above
There are no soldiers no leaders
Nothing binding us but love

:rotf:

6. Took a moment to fix it for you!

There are no flags in heaven
No signs of empires great
No gilded royal standards
No mighty seals of state -

No uniforms in paradise
No guns of steel and lead
No bombs that kill a thousand
No scores of victims dead.

There are no yellow ribbons
In heaven high above
No soldiers and no leaders
Nothing binding us but love.

Hmmm.....Tavs, you really should put down the crack pipe and pick up a bible.  Heaven is a kingdom.  Heaven fought at least one war.  The angels are referred to as "The heavenly host".  They seem to have some order to the way they are sent on missions.  If there aren't yellow ribbons, it's because there isn't sadness such as is caused by seperation.

Lastly, Lucifer was regarded as God's second in command, which indicates some sort of structure.

Tavs, despite it being called 'Heaven,' I don't think they have a free Methadone clinic, either.

There once was a DUmmie named Taverner,
Whose posts sounded like so much blather.
While he thought crack was whack,
He loved him some smack,
A drain on the world ever after.

In addition there is this

When Joshua was by Jericho, he lifted up his eyes and looked, and behold, a man was standing before him with his drawn sword in his hand. And Joshua went to him and said to him, “Are you for us, or for our adversaries?” And he said, “No; but I am the commander of the army of the Lord. Now I have come.” And Joshua fell on his face to the earth and worshiped and said to him, “What does my lord say to his servant?” And the commander of the Lord's army said to Joshua, “Take off your sandals from your feet, for the place where you are standing is holy.” And Joshua did so.

H5 Sparky!

I thought I would give it a try, here goes.

There once was a drug loser named Tav,
Who destroyed all the brain cells he had,
He thought he was witty,
But his poetry was shitty,
Now all the DUmp knows. How sad.

He's the DUmp's male Calpig
He'd be Nads if he had a "good" rig,
He isn't to bright,
He just isn't right,
Now all the internet knows.  I'm glad.

For someone who is supposed to be a self avowed atheist, he should does talk about God and Jesus and Heaven a lot. I mean, I don't believe in Leprechauns or Fairy Godmothers, so you never hear me discuss them. I also don't believe in any of the many Hindu Gods (with all due respect to any Hindus), but I don't feel the need to bash them or convince believers they don't exist. I certainly don't compose endless posts, poems or drunken rambles about Leprechauns, Fairy Godmothers or Hare Krishna.

So which is it pill-popper?  Does heaven exist then?  If Heaven exists, then logic (remember, you are a member of the best-est, brightest-est, most scientific people the world has ever known) would dictate that there is a God.

Careful Trav-Travy-Trav, they will be excommunicating you from the short bus gang.  :panic:

Liberal thinking is a two-legged stool and magical thinking is one of the legs, the other is a combination of self-loating and misanthropy.  To understand it, you would have to be able to sit on that stool while juggling two elephants, an anvil and a fragmentation grenade, sans pin.
