Today is a good day to metaphorically spit on Reagan's grave - give 'em your eulogy here.

I don't know why, but I'm feeling particularly anti-Reagan today. Probably because I read a great article in Christian CEntury yesterday about how the presidential libraries, esp. with Reagan and then very much with the current Bush who enacted legislation almost immediately upon taking office that gave ex-presidents and their ancestors the ability to decide what papers get made public and whatnot, and how the libraries are more propaganda machines than they are historical research facilities.

****ing evil clown.

Whether America survives another 1000 years or disappears, in the year 3008, historians will still be looking at the Reagan presidency as point that either destroyed the country, or that we somehow miraculously managed to survive through, because they were the 8 years that allowed Bush II to come into power later. They will not say they were good years.

Reagan, you were an evil ****, and should never have been president because you did more damage to this country than anyone or any country or any set of terrorists have ever done to this nation. Except Bush II, of course.

this was in the Lounge of all places..  :whatever:

its just started, but we can probably assume where its headed.

So who does she dislike? Reagan or Bush? Her BDS is shining through.

To be factual, it was Carter's reign of incompetence that brought about Reagan.
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

and if memory serves, wasnt it a rather embarassing landslide for Reagan? Like every state but Minnesota, or something like that?

if that isnt a country swiftly kicking Jimmy Carter's behind to the curb, I dont know what is... the moonbats must have been either too young to remember, or stoned at the time.

when i see them saying "our country is in the toilet!" over and over, clearly they dont remember 17% interest on mortgages and gas lines. even with 4 dollar gas today, you dont see or read about gas lines anywhere.

17%?  I bought my first house in 1980 and it was a variable rate starting at 22.625% and 30% down.

Don't forget that there was 13% inflation and 12% unemployment.

You are correct that anybody thinking Carter was a good president did not live during then but was either taught or stoned.

i was just hitting teenager status when carter came into the white house, but i do remember the gas lines. the mortgage stuff, i only know about because my dad used to talk about what an idiot carter was for being so helpless all the time.

dont we still have record low mortgage rates right now? we bought our new home last year and got under 6%. in fact, in my entire adult life, i've never paid more than about 8% interest on a mortgage loan and i've owned homes since 1989, in my mid 20s. ive lived in a few different states and as far as i can tell, nothing in the past 8 years even compares to the 1970s. God willing, we will never have to experience that again.

That's what I was thinking. It would be easier on everybody if they'd announce the days it wasn't a good day to defile Reagan's honor.

Jimmy The peanut is the biggest reason I waited to join the military until his stupid ass was out of office, No jobs and inflation was well above what it is now. If any President embodies what the moonbats say about Bush then Carter is the one.

Their BDS is exceeded only by their RDS, because they know that they Reagan years proved that conservatism works and liberalism is trash.

You're thinking the second time around, but was only slightly less embarrassing (he won Minnesota, Georgia, West Virginia, DC, and maybe one or two more).
