Hot this week.

Everything and anything Christmas. Dealers have it covered with way more than anyone can buy.

Industrial, lights and other fixtures from early 20th century factories and such. Lots of hardcover books.

Furniture, big and small tables with a few chest and desk.

Seems a little slow on week days with big week ends. A look back at last year sales and it's about even.

Dealers are saying auction prices have gone up in the last few weeks.

1. Thanks for the update.

"Smalls," in general, seem hot in the northeast . . . stocking stuffers. I always have good luck with small tables. A dealer once told me if you paint anything make it green and it will sell. She was right. Colonial green. I'm starting to hate that color.

2. Owls

I recently learned that anything owls seems to be interesting. We picked up some cheap little owl figurines and they didn't last a week.

Other than that, vinyl records continue strong, and we have sold two fur coats in the past week. We've sold some Christmas stuff but not a lot. Then again, we don't really have a lot.

We too are seeing exceedingly slow weeks and much stronger weekends. Drives us crazy but as long as it comes in some way or other, we'll take it.

3. That's interesting . . . I just sold an owl the same day I put it in the booth.

I'll have to keep an eye out for more of them.

4. the owls are even hotter if they are from the 1960s

This trend has been evident for a few years here in pacific northwest. Big, little, ceramic, macrame, decoupage, all very popular owls.

Beware, though, lots of reproductions are being made of the retro owl items.

I went to the eBay forum, where the notorious windfall-profiteering re-selling primitives hang out, to find out if the primitives have discussed antique music-boxes yet.

Nope, nothing about antique music-boxes, but I had to bring something back in the boat.

Evil profit makers that don't pay income taxes or sales tax......but it's OK, they voted to tax the rich.

eBay.

They hit flea markets and con sellers down in order to make a hefty profit. They get the fleas for free.
Come to think of it, unions do create jobs. Companies have to hire two workers to do the work of one.

eBay and Etsy "Stores," mostly.  Some of them have 'Booths' in local junk stores (I.e., they pay for an area, like an alcove or marked-out floor space, in the junk store, which actually handles the sale, the seller is generally not present in the flesh...one step above and slightly to the side of straight consignment sales in a junk store).
