There was no protest in Bellevue at 10 AM yesterday that I could see.

This, from a Nebraska primitive:

17. We went to Walmart last evening to pick up groceries (it's our closest supermarket and my husband was getting called in to work, couldn't drive out of our way), and there were less people there than usual. On Black Friday. We pushed our cart up to the registers, and there was a cashier standing out front and called us over--no waiting. WEIRD. I shop there a lot, that only happens on slow weekday mornings. Certainly not the biggest shopping day of the year.

Same here in MA, but it wasn't just Walmart - it was every store we went into (except Old Navy which was mobbed).

The economy is in the toilet.  Hope and change baby!

Two probabilities for this.

1. Three AM in the morning.
2. All check lines were being manned/womaned by checkers. Thus the lines were short.
Then-Chief Justice John Marshall observed, “Between a balanced republic and a democracy, the difference is like that between order and chaos.”

John Adams warned in a letter, “Remember democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There never was a democracy yet, that did not commit suicide.”

Third one.

She said she went in the evening of Black Friday.

By the evening of Black Friday, the fanatical shoppers are all shopped out.

This primitive's a rectal aperture; I wish she'd move back to Pennsylvania.

Having worked at WalMart on 2 black Fridays, I can explain.
After about 11 am, it becomes calm, after 3, it is DEAD and employees start cleaning it up.

Wait a damn minute. Didn't Stevie the wonder slug make a bit of a fuss during his run for the high office of city council over the fact that he didn't support Wal Mart since they are non unon or something like that? And why is he even close enough to what's going on there? Unless he was at the applebees or the Outback in Bellevue he would have had to drive onto the lot to see any protest.

I reluctantly took a friend to one of the local Walmart stores today.  I didn't go in, but based on how far away I had to park, the place must have been a zoo.

I know people that were having their second Thanksgivng dinner with the "other side" of the family today. Others were having dinner that had to work on the holiday. I am sure there were many out shopping during the day. On top of the fact people need food for the week.

I know others that are still out shopping for things before they sell out.

Lots of folks were decorating houses and homes this weekend. Our Home Depot and WalMart started to run out of things two weeks ago. That helped me get rid of a lot of inventory that I won't have to deal with after Christmas! I seen people spending $400 to decorate the outside of their house on top of the things they already had at home. I wonder if they even believe in Jesus?

Same here.  Fewer people at Wally World on Black Friday than an average weekend.

Did Kittery Trading Post yesterday.  Most of the sections were pretty quiet, except for the guns/ammo section.  THAT was busy.  Go figure.

I saw a beauty Browning .300 Win Mag for $1250 new (no scope) which I would love to have but I really have no need for something with that kind of reach.  Even the .223 Bushmasters/Colts were reasonably priced.
