Saturday day thread
« on: May 31, 2008, 12:33:00 PM »
Woop-de-sh!t, it's Saturday!

So far I've managed to weedeat and mow the yard.  Afterwards, a nice warm shower courtesy of the new water heater.  The dishes are washed.  The laundry is done.  I need to vacuum ... pppfffttt ... forget it!

Thinking about checking out the night life tonight.  A local bar is hosting a band that I've seen/heard play before.  I'm thinking a few cold brews, a good band and shaking my tail feathers might just be in order.

What y'all doing?

Put in a few hours at work today.  Got home about half an hour ago.

Guess I'll go read now.  I didn't really have any plans.

Dixie, Rob beat you to it with the Weekend thread. :) I too have been busy in the garden and I am just waiting for a watering gel to soak up enough water to allow me to plant up a hanging basket.

^LOL!  DIL had me on the phone for an hour, mid post.
I can't walk and chew gum at the same time, so I stopped and here we are!

I woke up around 7, watched a couple episodes of Nip/Tuck (Season 2) on DVD, and am now baking a cake. Just put it in the oven a few minutes ago.

This afternoon, I'm heading to my folks' house for a family gathering to celebrate my mom's birthday. That's what the cake is for. I have to frost it right before.

I'm looking forward to seeing my nephews.

I had planned to run this morning but it just wasn't going to happen. I might have had a couple of drinks last night at The Cheesecake Factory.  :-) We were going to grab a burger and fries at In 'n' Out but went there instead. Cheesecake and martinis is quite the combo.

I have a friend that makes dog bandannas with little clips on them.  Very cute.  Anywho, today was a big dog event in a city nearby, and I went and helped her sell her bandannas today.  We sold quite a few of them.  She's really hoping to get in with some of the dog groomers and bulk sell them for their use to give out to their customers.  She made some good contacts today.

It was really hot outside by the time we left.  I got home and discovered my A/C isn't working (check thread in Crying in my Beer forum).  I took a cool shower to clean up and cool off.  Now I'm just relaxing.

Good news, my dad came over and mowed and trimmed my lawn while I was at the dog event.  :)
