Got an invitation...
« on: October 23, 2012, 09:04:48 AM »
...to sit in with the 399th Army Band (Ft. Leonard Wood, MO) while they play a Veteran's Day concert in Moberly, MO on 6 November.

 :yahoo:

I'm gonna have to vote earlier in the day, but this is a gig I don't wanna miss.

I'll be wearing my uniform and everything (yeah, I can still fit in it).

Never thought that that would happen, but I'm looking forward to it.

Just hand over the chocolate...back away slowly...far away....and you won't get hurt....

Save the Earth... it's the only planet with chocolate.

Congrate Eupher. My contri....from "We Were Soldiers":

To fallen soldiers let us sing,
Where no rockets fly nor bullets wing,
Our broken brothers let us bring
To the Mansions of the Lord.

No more weeping, no more fight,
No friends bleeding through the night,
Just Divine embrace, Eternal light,
In the Mansions of the Lord.

Where no mothers cry and no children weep,
We shall stand and guard though angels sleep,
All through the ages let us keep,
The Mansions of the Lord.

So that gig with Aerosmith didn't work out?  Seriously congratulations and I hope it goes well.

Well, about 10 minutes before I was to leave I checked my email. This was about 0845 this morning.

It was good I did, because the commander had emailed me about ten minutes prior to notify me that the rehearsal (scheduled at 1330) had to be moved up to 0930. He cited a meeting with his boss as the reason and apologized.

Well, since travel time in getting there is about 2.5 hours, there was no way I was going to make it.

He said they have a dress rehearsal on Monday, but I don't know that I can take a day off to do that.

Which means sightreading the gig. Oh, well. BTDT.  :o

And yes, there will be pics at least. Dunno about video - we've got a nice camera, but Mrs. E is challenged in that way....

Way to go Eupher.  Also good news that you got the e-mail in time.  Doubt very much you'll have any problem 'sight reading', with your background ---- something about --- 'once learned you never forget'.
