Stinky The Clown (47,692 posts) Thu Oct 18, 2012, 05:56 PM Regarding Rice-Aroni . . . . .. . . . it is, after all, "the San Francisco Treat." That would be liberal, Nancy Pelosi, Socialist San Francisco. I wonder if right wingers ever buy it? I give this an hour . . . . . .
Warpy (65,134 posts) Thu Oct 18, 2012, 06:20 PM1. Have you ever tasted that stuff?I don't know who would buy it but four pack a day smokers who have completely destroyed their sense of taste and only pick up on salt.

It's pretty easy to make a healthy version with better than boullion, a little onion and some brown rice. You can add the noodles or not.... Just toast the rice and finish it with stock.

Gormy Cuss (25,816 posts) Thu Oct 18, 2012, 09:19 PM5. Rice and pasta pilaf can be really good, even from a box mix.Near East pilaf is decent (although a bit high in sodium for my liking.) Making it from scratch is easy and even better. Now Rice-a-roni, that one is pretty vile.
