cali Donating Member (1000+ posts) Wed May-28-08 06:38 AMOriginal messageWill Hillary Protestors Make A Spectacle Of Themselves And Try To Disrupt The RBC Meeting? Judging from posts on Hillary support sites, that's a real possibility. The RBC sent out a memo re those planning on attending, making clear that disruptions, signs, utterances, etc, are strictly forbidden. Is the Clinton Camp aware that their supporters are advocating making a scene? Have they sent a message to their supporters asking them to abide by the rules?I fully expect HRC supporters/protestors to try and disrupt the meeting, particularly as they won't get what they most unreasonably believe is Hill's due. This has been coming to a boil for some time. On Saturday it may be a sloppy, embarassing mess- thanks to a bunch of petulant idiots.
cali Donating Member (1000+ posts) Wed May-28-08 06:44 AMResponse to Reply #12. From what I've seen, the Hillary supporters don't need any help. They're angry enough about her losing to behave like assholes all be themselves.
cali Donating Member (1000+ posts) Wed May-28-08 07:05 AMResponse to Reply #37. I doubt there will be a counter protest. In any case, Obama has specifically asked his supporters not to protest. Has Hillary asked her supporters to at least not disrupt as they plan to?
cali Donating Member (1000+ posts) Wed May-28-08 07:14 AMResponse to Reply #811. Sorry, that's not the way it works in a primary system that has no accurate way to tabulate the popular vote. And she hasn't and won't win the so-called popular vote.
cali Donating Member (1000+ posts) Wed May-28-08 07:09 AMResponse to Reply #510. Obama leads in the only valid metric, pledged delegates, by approx 140+. There is no way to accurately tabulate the popular vote. It is not a tie. And though it's fine to protest outside of the RBC meeting itself, it is definitely not OK to try and disrupt the meeting itself- and that's what's being advocated on Hillary support sites. Many Obama supporters are also disgusted by the lies and filth thrown at Obama and his supporters by the Hill supporters. Hopefully, they'll heed Obama's words and not act like assholes. And of course, it has nothing to do with hating democracy.
cali Donating Member (1000+ posts) Wed May-28-08 07:38 AMResponse to Reply #2731. Do you know the difference between pledged and Super Delegates? Pledged delegates do represent the voters. SDs are free to vote for whoever they wish for any reason they devise. And in states such as WA, both Senators are supporting Hillary, despite their state going for Obama. That's their perrogative.
cali Donating Member (1000+ posts) Wed May-28-08 07:23 AMResponse to Reply #1419. My guess is that they are. They sent out a memo stating that anyone breaking the specific rules about bringing in signs, handouts or speaking out of turn, will be promptly removed from the meeting. I doubt they'll countenance any Hillfan garbage.
cali Donating Member (1000+ posts) Wed May-28-08 07:25 AMResponse to Reply #1723. If the idiots disrupt the meeting in any way, they'll be rightfully tossed out on their petulant butts. The rules are quite clear: No signs, no speaking out of turn, no handouts, etc. They want to protest outside the meeting, fine. They try and disrupt it, they'll be kicked out immediately as they should be.
cali Donating Member (1000+ posts) Wed May-28-08 07:30 AMResponse to Reply #2526. One hopes that they have enough respect and self-discipline not to try and disrupt the meeting itself. Personally, I doubt very much that they do.And whatever they do, it won't make a bit of difference. I can't imagine why you think it will.
cali Donating Member (1000+ posts) Wed May-28-08 07:42 AMResponse to Reply #3032. Can you read? I clearly supported their right to protest. They have no ****ing right whatsoever to disrupt a meeting and make it difficult or impossible to conduct. I do NOT support they're doing the latter. They have no right to do so.
cali Donating Member (1000+ posts) Wed May-28-08 07:57 AMResponse to Reply #3839. I said nothing whatsoever about riots in my OP. I used the word disrupt and that's a far cry from riot. It could entail anything from bringing in prohibited materials to shouting or chanting. And I read about it on some Hillary supporter sites.

We discuss events of the past present and future here. In fact, I'd hazard a guess that speculative posts constitute the majority of all posts here.

You know, sir, that's exactly what I was thinking of, when looking at this bonfire.Wasn't it mainly Obamaite primitives cheering that one crazed woman on, the one who tried to assault the Secretary of State some months ago?
