From reading the news and enjoying all the Schadenfreude this morning, a thought has sprouted.

Because of the months of just blistering negative attack ads from 0's campaign, and the vastly negative coverage of Romney's supposed "gaffes," etc., do you think that it might be possible that when Romney spoke directly to 0bama that the illusion was shattered?

He was competent, confident, poised, presidential, funny, empathetic, truthful, and powerful. This all goes 180 degrees against what the media has been saying for 6 months. In 90 minutes, Romney defeated millions of dollars of negative ads against him.

Am I way off here?
Let nothing trouble you,
Let nothing frighten you.
All things are passing;
God never changes.
Patience attains all that it strives for.
He who has God lacks nothing:
God alone suffices.

Interesting thought, but as we've already seen, the lefties are busily spinning away to come up with their version of why their messiah did so poorly -- Gasbag Jim Lehrer being one of them. Altitude being another. And it will go on and on and on until the sheeple are convinced that Romney's performance was an anomaly, a fluke.

Romney must be unrelenting and must not rest on his laurels.

Stating the obvious here -- fighting to defeat a sitting president is a monumental task and cannot be underestimated if Romney hopes to win.

Despite Romney's compelling performance, he's got two more opportunities to keep hacking at that planted oak tree that is Barry. That tree won't topple until the election, so he's got to keep his chain saw sharp and lubricated until then. After that, he can rest for a little while before forming his transition team to oust that empty suit from my White House.
