Workers March down to Sherman Heights Market Workers?? Why aren't they at work?
September 22, 2012 (San Diego)-- The rally started at the Golden Hill park and then made it's way to the Sherman Heights Farmer's Market, future site of a new Walmart.

As the marchers came down chants started to be heard. "Wallmart eschucha, estamos en la lucha," (Walmart listen, we are in the fight). "1,2.3,4 we don't want your Walmart store, 5,6,7,8, Walmart discriminates). "Los Pueblos unidos, james seran vencidos." (The people united, will never be defeated.)

According to Lorena Gonzales, Secretary-Treasurer CEO of the San Diego and Imperial Labor Councils, there were close to a thousand people. They came from all trades, and a large list of community groups. They came together to demand that Walmart treat it's workers fairly.

And you thought only China had horrific working conditions. I just have to drive two hours to find it, or less. Liar
Take a look at the name of the unpaid, volunteer reporter.  Look familiar?
Seems the DUmp could care less for her sub-standard reportage, sooooo...... after 48 minutes.

Then-Chief Justice John Marshall observed, “Between a balanced republic and a democracy, the difference is like that between order and chaos.”

John Adams warned in a letter, “Remember democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There never was a democracy yet, that did not commit suicide.”

This effort by the crazy bald dwarf was so lame that even Moonbat Miriam wouldn't take it for her East County internet blog.

The nutcase posted it at OEN, which is just an open unmoderated forum.

There were (at the time of this entry) five comments to the labor story.  Two of them were made by gNads.

That is borderline sad.  Sorta.
This too shall pass.

Jose Alvarado Flores told me that "I came to support the marchers." He is an SEIU member,

I knew he was by his three chins.  What is with all union members being morbidly obese?

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

Hmmmm.

That sounds like a good question to ask my fellow Nebraskan, Omaha Steve.

Is that supposed to be an unbiased piece?  She slandered several companies and made no attempt whatsoever to contact them for comment to the accusations made against them.

Great job Nads.

2. Yeah but I am talking of the coverage

We had 1000 people yesterday at Sherman Heights. I interviewed a member of the proletariat (if you must), who is not making enough, period, and his working conditions could be used to described oh Foxconn, and it sinks like a rock.

Nor can I find an outlet that wants to run that.

Ok, it is not as bad as foxconn, they don't have barbed wire and guards...(yet.)

I think if you talk to current members of organized labor, they know... it is the middle class, and members of both parties that have no clue.

Here, the story

http://www.democraticunderground.com/10021400638

But yes, I have now to wonder if we really now have a certain "class and race" based bias.

No you didn't.  You started out with 1000 but only had half that number when you were finished. :lmao:

Uh oh! Now the crazy bald dwarf is taking a shot at Moonbat Miriam and her East County internet blog.

Even Moonbat Miriam rejected this latest mess from the nutcase.

Nads should brush up on her recent history.  The media outlet (NPR, "This American Life" hosted by Ira Glass) that originally "broke" the Foxconn story has since retracted it after finding out the entire thing was an elaborate hoax.

But then lies are never in short supply where pro-unionistas gather.

This American Life Retracts Foxconn Report: ‘Daisey Lied’

Acclaimed Public Radio International program This American Life has retracted an entire episode about working conditions inside Foxconn, the Chinese manufacturer that builds much of Apple’s most popular hardware, after learning that a major contributing source “partially fabricated” information about his visit to the factories.

In the episode, PRI aired a monologue from Mike Daisey, a self-proclaimed performer whose one-man show, The Agony and Ecstasy of Steve Jobs, detailed alarming labor practices which he claimed to witness during his time visiting Foxconn. Among the many facts Daisey fabricated, according to PRI, were the number of Foxconn factories he visited, the number of workers he spoke with, as well as a meeting with a number of workers who claimed to have been poisoned by chemicals used in iPhone assembly lines.

A stage performer credited by The Wall Street Journal’s theater critic as “awesomely gifted,” Daisey is best known his performances of over 15 monologues, which have received largely favorable reviews from major outlets like The New York Times, The New Yorker and The Washington Post. Daisey describes his work as a combination of “autobiography, gonzo journalism, and unscripted performance.”

What came first, the triple chin or the union membership?

According to his high school photograph, the triple chin came first.

I'd say the union membership showed up just in time to beat out the neckbeard for second place.
