They need to make sure it's a union carpenter. The ramp will cost more than the shed.
Whoa Nellie, you said a mouthful there. Once the carpenter and apprentice show up on site they will probably discover the shed is a non conforming structure according to code. It will also be necessary for a site review to determine if there are any wetlands or endangered specie concerns which need to be addressed. Once the proper permits have been pulled to make the necessary modifications to bring said shed up to code it will be time to determine if the ramp will in fact be built in accordance with the current ADA standards. If it is built to ADA standards because, well, it is the law, it will also require installation of grab rails on Ladybug's wallet.
Then it will become necessary to determine whether the carpenter will use pressure treated wood or composite recycled plastic. Cutting either will require OSHA approved resperator protection, the extra cost passed on to the lucky bugger not to mention the disposal disposal cost of the hazardous materials generated.
Yup I can see this becoming the Taj Mahal of back yard union projects.
