I've liked Jeff Bridges ever since Thunderbolt And Lightfoot (which starred Clint Eastwood BTW). Also loved his role in The Big Lebowski in which he basically played a DUer, only without all the seething hatred. I saw an interview with one of his friends who stated that the "Lebowski" character most closely matched how Bridges was in real life.
It's amusing to speculate on and hear about which celebrities are conservative and which are are liberal, but in the end they matter no more than any other American, and by and large they certainly aren't more insightful or informed politically than anyone else. In fact, an argument could be made for just the opposite because of the insulated lives so many of them lead.
It is liberals who worship personages. Their moods rise and fall based on the latest proclamations from one talking head or member of the glitterati or another. As soon as that person steps out of line they discard him or her and commence gushing over the next false Messiah. That's one of the reasons why they are so doomed to misery, this emotional and ideological investment in naturally flawed human beings.
