Yup.  2 volts and a kajillion amps.  I've seen what happens when you short across the terminals on these things (watched a co-worker drop his socket wrench just after connecting the last cell in battery).  I think we could make the SickoftheGOP DUmbshit the brightest he's ever been.

I can remember reaching in to get an acid sample and somehow I touched one of the plates inside the cell.  No biggie most of the time , but I just happened to be near one of the vertical support beams .  My head touched it at the same time my hand touched the plate.  It was my fault because I didn't have the rubber gloves on.
