That same DUmmy also makes it look like this is some new thng for Muslims. It's not.
Muslims have long been deathly opposed to granting women literally any kind of freedom, and they have long loved using acid to maim "Rebellious" women and girls, and to torture their prisoners/ hostages.
When people (Usually ignorant atheists whose knowledge of religion is limited to what a couple TV shows have taught them) try to claim that Islam, Christianity and Islam are all really the same deep down, I'd point out one major difference: Christianity and Judaism have both evolved enough over the millennia that they can easily adapt to and assimilate into modern, civilized society (i.e. They offer more freedom towards women and get along better with those of different beliefs than they did 1000 years ago); Islam, in contrast, has not. In fact, not only does Islam refuse to evolve and adapt to modern society, they actually take the opposite approach; They demand that the rest of the world, especially the Western world, bend over backwards to accomodate them and their backwards, outdated, and often dangerous beliefs, out of fear of being openly accused of racism if they don't cater to Muslims' every whim. That's why atrocities like this hapen so often in Muslim soceties today; It's the same way they acted 1000 years ago, they're just using different tools now.
