What's missing from the DU debate on what would drive numbnuts like Wade Page to shoot up Muslims (assuming that's who he thought he was shooting at the Sikh church)?
The war.
We've heard all the "stochastic terrorism" jibber-jabber and how Limbaugh, Beck, et al are behind it, but what is really the driving force?
From a DUmbass point of view, and maybe even with a little truth, one would think the constant drumbeat of the Afghanistan war in the background would be what continues to keep anti-Muslim sentiments stirred (not that the Islamofascists themselves aren't adept at that on their own). I mean, we haven't suffered a terrorist attack in years, but we are treated to nightly reports of the war, how many soldiers we've lost, the latest IED or ambush we've encountered, atrocities on civilians conducted by the Taliban,and so on. The natural moonbat response, given their history, is that we should end the war so healing can start and animosities fade.
But where in the discussion of this latest event has anyone mentioned the war?
Nowhere, that's where.
Not. A. Single. Thread. Not even a single post that I've read in that giant cluster**** has even tangentially mentioned the war. Whereas when Bush was president it consumed them, with Obama at the helm it's something to be brushed aside, forgotten, not mentioned like an embarrassing family secret. And why? Politics. They just don't mind it so much anymore since it's their guy calling the shots. It is more important to get Barry Soetoro re-elected than to stop those "brown people" they love so much from being razed and it's for damn sure more important than saving our own troops.
Those few hardy souls who have brought it up in weeks and months past have been treated to, "Ssshhh! Don't criticize Obama in an election year!" and "Why are you attacking Obama, do you want Mittens as president or something?" This is the hypocrisy of DU laid bare. The fact is, they are more concerned with getting an activist Supreme Court who will allow gays to be married, and getting more vote-buying politicians elected to keep them in entitlements, than they are over all the tens and hundreds of thousands slaughtered in war. That is how venal and selfish and hypocritical they are and why everything they say is hollow and meaningless. They are of the lowest and most dishonest character.
Whether you agree with the continuation of the war or not, that much is evident at DU.
