I'm sure Abe Lincoln and the Republicans who pushed through the 13th, 14th, and 15th Amendments (and all the slaves freed after the Civil War) might disagree with this assessment.
Or maybe Teddy Roosevelt, when he was establishing the National Park Service. Or the Republicans (like Martin Luther King, Jr and George Romney) who led the civil rights movements. I could go on, but, please, keep telling yourself that Republicans are the problem...
Awesome points all around, H5!
Republican presidents on Mount Rushmore: 2.
Democrat presidents on Mount Rushmore: 0.
btw, while Republicans like King and Romney were leading the civil rights movements, Democrats like Al Gore Sr. and Robert Byrd were fighting it with every breath they could muster, and it took the hideous murder of Emmett Till to make JFK start to see the civil rights movement as a moral cause.
