Would you be willing to pay more in taxes?
Well, it is rushing towards us, the end of the Bush tax cuts, which Obama extended once already. Clinton, Summers, and others on the right are rushing to say that the tax cuts should remain in place, even if "temporarily". Obama himself is saying that we shouldn't renew the tax cuts, at least for the rich.

But what it is already shaping up to be is another in a long line of showdowns, with the House 'Pugs wanting play another game of chicken. Because surely, somebody is going to introduce a bill to extend the tax cuts for the non-rich, but the 'Pugs will reply that it is all or none, either everybody, including the rich, get a tax cut, or nobody does.

My question is would you be willing for everybody's tax cuts to end? The average household would have to pay an additional $2,100 in taxes a year(that's based on an average household income of $49,900). The rich, of course, would pay much more in taxes, ten times the average and up. So would you be willing to make that deal?

I would, because frankly we need the revenue, and the Clinton tax hike wasn't that much of a hardship. Not to mention that I would be willing to play that game of chicken with the 'Pugs, just to show them that Dems are ready to fight and willing to take it all the way. What about you?

Check out the DUmp name, then read. :-)

DUmpmonkey needs to ditch the "not" from the DUmp name.

They squabbled back and forth.

I think the DUmpmonkeys are right. Let's let all of the Bush Tax rates expire and also put back the funding for Social Security that The Destroyer put in place.  Then let the fireworks from the big government totalitarians begin. For the lowest bracket that will mean a 50% HIKE. Call them the 0bama tax hikes. IF the republicans really want to tank the economy to get into power that is what they should do.

When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

The house GOP should jump start the process with an early bill to extend the Bush Tax Cuts.  Call it the Bush Tax Cuts v. The Obama Massive Tax Hike bill.

Uh Oh! here's the polling on the Bush Tax Cuts:

http://hotair.com/archives/2012/07/14/mcclatchy-poll-shows-majority-favor-extending-all-bush-tax-rates/

The news gets worse for Obama in the demographics, even if McClatchy has a problem with reporting on the issue:

Quote
Young voters ages 18-29 favored tax cuts for everyone by a margin of 69-29, the largest margin of any age group.

Latinos favored tax cuts for all incomes by 62 percent to 36 percent. Whites supported tax cuts for every income by 50 percent to 44 percent. African-Americans split, 48 percent for limiting the tax cuts to incomes below $250,000 and 47 percent for extending them to all incomes.

And those making less than $50,000 supported tax cuts for all incomes by 53 percent to 41 percent.

How can that be, don't they realize they are voting against their own best interests?  :-)

Actually they must realize that raising taxes on the evil rich won't magically make their lives better like the DUmmies seem to think.
I may not lock my doors while sitting at a red light and a black man is near, but I sure as hell grab on tight to my wallet when any democrats are close by.

I would miss $5-10 every week, even $1.  If the government takes a few dollars here, a few dollars there, a few more over there.... then yeah, that money is going to be missed once I realize I can no longer afford my bills or put food on the table.

I damn' near don't give a **** anymore.  What's killing business isn't the rate, it's the fact you can't plan on it staying the same for more than 12 months, combined with the limitless overhead costs of an ever-more oppressive regulatory environment.

No shiiite EC. Remember though... these people don't pay taxes. Probably never have. Their whole life is being a ward of the government. They are slaves and they do not even know it.

It's pretty sad really.

I would say that percentage is incredibly high.

...and yes, it's very sad.

A couple of years ago, I figured it out.  Had the "Bush cuts" expired in 2010, I would have been paying an average of $5000 more in taxes each year.

An EXTRA $100/WEEK on top of the $25K+/YR I already pay in federal taxes.  To support the 49.5 percent who don't pay shit into the system.
